April 30, 2016 St, Pius V Consecration Day 3   Dear Family of Mary!   Because we are doing the 33 Day Consecration to Jesus through Mary, I will be sending out reflections on the weekend until June. I am so happy to be praying this consecration with all of you. I feel it is specially meant for us at this time. Alleluia!!   This is Day 3. We continue to work to distance ourselves from the world, and the spirit of the world. Today it is suggested that we read Matthew 7:1-14. In this Scripture Jesus cautions us not to judge one another. “Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged.” Judging is a pillar of the spirit of the world. How many “talk shows” are dedicated to gossip and judgement? How many relationships are centered around judging others and feeling superior to others as we inspect their lives with a fine toothed comb? This is the spirit of the world. Compare, judge, and then despise.   Our Lady told us:   May 02, 2013 “Dear children; Anew, I am calling you to love and not to judge. My Son, according to the will of the Heavenly Father, was among you to show you the way of salvation, to save you and not to judge you. If you desire to follow my Son, you will not judge but love like your Heavenly Father loves you. And when it is the most difficult for you, when you are falling under the weight of the cross do not despair, do not judge, instead remember that you are loved and praise the Heavenly Father because of His love. My children, do not deviate from the way on which I am leading you. Do not recklessly walk into perdition. May prayer and fasting strengthen you so that you can live as the Heavenly Father would desire; that you may be my apostles of faith and love; that your life may bless those whom you meet; that you may be one with the Heavenly Father and my Son. My children, that is the only truth, the truth that leads to your conversion, and then to the conversion of all those whom you meet – those who have not come to know my Son – all those who do not know what it means to love. My children, my Son gave you a gift of the shepherds. Take good care of them. Pray for them. Thank you.”     Love and trust in God is the antidote to judging.   Matthew 7:1-14 concludes with “Ask and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives and he who seeks find, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”    If we truly understand how much the Heavenly Father wants to bless us, we will not need to judge others. By judging we think we can get ahead of them and get ahead in society. But to be truly happy, all we need is to ask the Father for what we need. He will provide for us and for our neighbor, if we ask. No need to jostle for position, no need to be judgmental. Our Father will take care of everything.   This is our job today!  Let us pray:   TOTUS TUUS (Totally Yours)   Immaculate Conception, Mary my Mother, Live in me, Act in me, Speak in me and through me, Think your thoughts in my mind, Love through my heart, Give me your dispositions and feelings, Teach, lead me and guide me to Jesus, Correct, enlighten and expand my thoughts and behavior, Possess my soul, Take over my entire personality and life, replace it with Yourself, Incline me to constant adoration, Pray in me and through me, Let me live in you and keep me in this union always.   © 1956, Mother Immaculata, OCD

After these 33 days of prayer with Mary, we will consecrate ourselves to her Immaculate heart! This is a wonderful pilgrimage of prayer in which we can give our hearts to our Mother and she will give us her heart!!   The first twelve days of St. Louis de Montforts method of consecration are dedicated to disentangling ourselves from the world. It seems like a long time to take on this one project, but really it is not. The world has tentacles that can wiggle their way into every part of our hearts. When Our Lady of Medjugorje said on April 25, 2016:

“…My Immaculate Heart bleeds as I look at you in sin and sinful habits…”

…did we look in our hearts at “you” or out to others at “you?”

Before the major sins of society can be corrected, it is God’s people first who must be corrected. For many Christians, we observe nine out of God’s Ten Commandments and leave one out as “small.” A Friend of Medjugorje, after years of praying and sacrificing found himself confronted with this Commandment. In talking to God, he said that it would make no difference if he lived this Commandment because everyone else would be breaking it. But, he writes:

“…The voice of my conscious said, “You will have to stand in judgment before Me by contributing to it.” I was shaken, not so much by this voice in my heart, but by the realization that I had no more excuses to rationalize my actions, and it was at this point I committed to living this precept of God despite the cost…” ¹

We can be a balm for Our Lady’s bleeding heart if we decide to be true before God, run to Confession and commit to living God’s commandments. A Friend of Medjugorje speaks from experience and conviction that our not doing this contributes to the evils in the world as a whole:

“…We, who live Christianity today, are no longer a holy people. Our Lady wants you to be holy, to live holy, to change the direction of your life, to change and convict society. We are to be salt. Salt preserves that which is prone to decay. The meat (society) decays because the salt (Christians) has gone flat. We no longer have the convicting power of light. We do not live light, and darkness prevails. We must become children of light for the children in darkness. You must kill small sin in your life to kill big sin in the lives of others…” ²

Since faith is the only key which opens up these mysteries for us, we must begin the Rosary by saying the Creed very devoutly, and the stronger our faith the more merit our Rosary will have.

This faith must be lively and informed by charity; in other words, to recite the Rosary properly it is necessary to be in God’s grace, or at least seeking it.

This faith must be strong and constant, that is, one must not be looking for sensible devotion and spiritual consolation in the recitation of the Rosary; nor should one give it up because the mind is flooded with countless involuntary distractions, or because one experiences a strange distaste in the soul or an almost continual and oppressive fatigue of the body.

Neither feelings, nor consolation, nor sighs, nor transports, nor the continual attention of the imagination are needed; faith and good intentions are quite enough.

God is calling you through me for your hearts to be hope and joy for all those who are far away. May my call be for you a balm for the soul and heart so that you may glorify God, the Creator, who loves you and is calling you to eternity. Little children, life is short; you, make good use of this time and do what is good. Thank you for having responded to my call.”   Today is the feast day of St. Louis de Montfort, the great prophet of our times, who saw so clearly the “Age of Mary” that was to come.  St. Louis understood the necessity of Mary in our spiritual lives.  He understood how much we would need her in these latter days, when the world would be so far from God.    I believe that St. Louis would have been in ecstasy if he had been alive during our day, when we receive messages from Our Lady every month.  I believe that Our Lady’s call to us, her call from Medjugorje is part of what St. Louis foretold about Mary’s role in the world.  Our Lady just told us “May my call be for you a balm for the soul and heart so that you may glorify God, the Creator, who loves you and is calling you to eternity…”  Her call is indeed a balm.  In her call, Our Lady gives us the gift of her spirit, pouring out upon us her very heart, so that we can be formed by her, healed by her, and guided by her.  This call is a cure for our sin-sick souls.  She shares her self with us in her call, giving us her attitudes, her prayers, her very love.   Here is what St. Louis said about the call of Our Lady, the gift of her call in our lives:   (217) § 5. The soul of our Blessed Lady will communicate itself to you, to glorify the Lord. Her spirit will enter into the place of yours, to rejoice in God her salvation, provided only that you are faithful to the practices of this devotion. Sit in singulis anima Marice, ut magnificet Dominum: sit in singulis spiritus Marice, ut exultet in Deo (St. Ambrose)-“Let the soul of Mary be in each of us to glorify the Lord: let the spirit of Mary be in each of us to rejoice in God.” Ah! when will the happy time come, said a holy man of our own days, who was all absorbed in Mary-ah! when will the happy time come, when the divine Mary will be established mistress and queen of hearts, in order that she may subject them fully to the empire of her great and holy Jesus? When will souls breathe Mary, as the body breathes air? When that time comes, wonderful things will happen in those lowly places, where the Holy Ghost, finding His dear Spouse as it were reproduced in souls, shall come in with abundance, and fill them full to overflowing with His gifts, and particularly with the gift of wisdom, to work the miracles of grace. My dear brother, when will that happy time, that age of Mary, come, when souls, losing themselves in the abyss of her interior, shall become living copies of Mary, to love and glorify Jesus? That time will not come until men shall know and practise this devotion which I am teaching. Ut adveniat regnum tuum, adveniat regnum Marice.   “…ah! when will the happy time come, when the divine Mary will be established mistress and queen of hearts, in order that she may subject them fully to the empire of her great and holy Jesus?”  This is that time when Our Lady has come to establish herself as our queen, our mistress, our guide, through her call.  She is here with us now, to establish her “time”.  Her call is that balm of soul and heart that will enable us to glorify God!  It is through her spirit, that we will be able to finally give God everything, and follow Him totally, for His Glory and our salvation.   Many of us are beginning today the 33 Day Consecration to Jesus through Mary! It will end on May 31, the Feast of the Visitation.  You may want to join in this 33 day pilgrimage of prayer with Our Lady.  You can use St. Louis de Montfort’s Consecration found in “True Devotion to Mary”.  Or there is “33 Days to Morning Glory” by Fr. Michael Gaitley.  How ever you choose to pray for 33 days to draw closer to Our Lady, it will bear fruit.  The aim is to let her call be a balm for your soul and your heart.  To consecrate oneself to Our Lady is to just surrender to her so that she can surrender you to Jesus.  It is a matter of trust and love.    Totus Tuus!  All for you, Mary!   In Jesus, Mary and Joseph! NOM Vows to Unseat Three Republicans Who Betrayed Missouri Voters and People of Faith

WASHINGTON, April 27, 2016 /Christian Newswire/ — The National Organization for Marriage (NOM) today vowed to unseat Representatives Anne Zerr, Jim Hansen and Caleb Rowden because of their refusal to support SJR 39 which would allow Missouri voters to protect the right of Christians and people of faith from being punished by government because they object to participating in a same-sex ‘wedding.’ NOM is the nation’s largest and most active organization in support of traditional marriage and the religious liberty rights of marriage supporters.

“This act of betrayal by three cowardly Republicans will not be tolerated,” said Brian Brown, NOM’s president. “These lawmakers have sided with LGBT extremists and voted against the right of Missouri voters to consider needed religious liberty provisions protecting people of faith from being forced to participate in a same-sex ‘wedding’ despite their deeply held religious objections. As we have done elsewhere, we will do everything in our power to end the political careers of these gutless politicians.”

NOM has a history of involvement in legislative elections against Republicans who vote to redefine marriage or fail to protect the right of people to refuse involvement in a gay ‘wedding’ that violates their religious beliefs. They were instrumental in unseating all four Republican state Senators in New York who voted with Democrats to redefine marriage. In 2014, the group helped defeat two Republican US House candidates in Massachusetts and California, and defeated a Republican US Senate candidate in Oregon who supported same-sex ‘marriage.’ The group also funded independent expenditure efforts and ran ads supporting two successful US Senate candidates in Arkansas and North Carolina.

“LGBT extremists are intent on harnessing the power of government to target anyone who opposes their desire to redefine marriage,” Brown said. “They have successfully gone after florists, bakers, photographers, innkeepers and others seeking to force them to participate in a gay ‘wedding’ that many people consider to be sinful. People have been sued, fined, fired and punished, their reputations ruined and their livelihood destroyed. SJR 39 would have given Missouri voters an opportunity to prevent this type of discrimination against people of faith, but the three Republican legislators instead made sure that the extremists will be able to continue to harass and punish anyone in Missouri who disagrees with their dangerous and divisive agenda.”

Representatives Zerr and Rowden are currently seeking election to the state Senate. Rowden is running in Senate District 19 against Rep. Stephen Webber, while Zerr is in a contested Republican primary on August 2nd to fill the vacant 23rd Senate District. Hansen is running unopposed for reelection to the state House of Representatives.

“Whether it takes us a few months or several years, we will not rest until all three of these turncoat Republicans are out of office,” Brown pledged. “The people of Missouri are tired of politicians who betray them, running for office as conservatives but failing to support conservative policies once in office. We’re going to make sure that voters in each of these districts know that they were betrayed, and we’ll be working to unseat them at the first opportunity.”
