New study confirms abortion/breast cancer link

Pro-abortion advocates have relentlessly denied a link between abortion and breast cancer, but a new study has emerged from China that seems to show that such a link not only exists, but that the risk rises with each abortion a woman has.

5 things missing from Planned Parenthood’s annual report

pphsnakeThe holiday season is upon us. Almost inevitably that means that as Americans turn their attention to family and friends, significant rules, regulations, and reports will be released in the hope that they will go largely unnoticed and generally uncommented upon. If recent history is any indicator, this year’s holiday “data dump” will include the annual report for the nation’s largest abortion chain, Planned Parenthood.
The blessing of adoption

My story begins on the other side of the world, in the capitol of post-communist Romania, during a time of poverty in the country. Romania had been under communist rule for 44 years, and at the time I was born, they had only had their freedom from Nicolae Ceau?escu (the dictator) for a little over a year.

Hope in China: ‘Baby boxes’ hope to stem infanticide

Shenzhen has apparently applied to the Guangdong provincial authorities to pilot such a facility next year. Some social media users have warned that the box will encourage “irresponsible parents” to give away their unwanted children, the People’s Daily newspaper says.

Mother With Multiple Sclerosis Loses Her Health Coverage Due to Obamacare
Please pray for Whitney Johnson. We shared her story on the Sean Hannity show on Friday and have been promoting her story nationwide. Today she sent us an update and prayer request, and she said we could share with you.

She’s a beautiful 26-year-old mother with M.S. and, due to ObamaCare, her health plan was canceled. The problems are getting worse. Please read and pray. This is happening to real Americans.

Poll: Christie Leads Republicans for 2016, Paul Second, Ryan Third
The 2016 presidential election is years away but the frustration with President Barack Obama and his disastrous Obamacare health care scheme has many voters looking ahead to the next presidential election.

CNN released a poll today asking both Democrats and Republicans who they favor for the nominee of their respective parties. Naturally, pro-abortion former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton continues to outperform any other Democrat, while Republicans are more divided. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/11/29/cnn-poll-christie-leads-republicans-for-2016-paul-second-ryan-third/

Cancer Patient Who Complained About Losing Insurance Due to Obamacare Faces IRS Audit
A man with cancer who complained about losing his health insurance thanks to Obamacare’s rules and regulations is now facing an IRS audit. Bill Elliot couldn’t afford the expensive premiums of a replacement plan after Obamacare shelved his health insurance and spoke out about it in a Fox News interview.

He was so distraught he thought about paying the Obamacare fine of having no insurance and “letting nature take its course.” http://www.lifenews.com/2013/11/29/cancer-patient-who-complained-about-losing-insurance-due-to-obamacare-faces-irs-audit/

18 and Out of the Foster Care System, She Finally Gets Adoptive Family
Amanda was almost 18 and about to “age out” of the foster care system. But while our nation’s laws consider someone who’s 18 to be an adult, you and I know there’s still a lot of growing up left to do at that age. Even young adults need a mom and a dad.

For example, Amanda still yearned for a mother’s love to soothe her on the bad days and share the joy with her on the good ones. She wanted a dad to hold her hand and walk her down the aisle. Amanda always dreamed of having somewhere to come home to on the holidays. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/11/29/18-and-out-of-the-foster-care-system-she-finally-gets-adoptive-family/

Amy and Andy, a couple from Mahomet, IL, were married with one son, Jackson, when they found out they were expecting their second child. But the excitement turned to anger and sadness at Amy’s 12 week routine ultrasound appointment when she sensed something was wrong. As she told News Channel 15:

Abortion Supporter Admits Pictures of Aborted Babies are “Dead Bodies”
My pro-life website has quotes from abortionists and pictures of aborted babies. On the pages with the pictures of aborted babies, I have a brief survey which allows a visitor to answer several questions and leave their own comments. I got a comment this morning that I thought was interesting, and I wanted to share it.

The comment comes from a 37-year-old woman who claims to be an “atheist/agnostic.” She says: “quit with the lies and half truths. the set up of the pics are disgusting. seriously, would it be okay to play with and pose any other kinds of dead bodies? war is horrible but you don’t see people making horrific scenarios with peoples [sic] body parts.” http://www.lifenews.com/2013/11/29/abortion-supporter-admits-pictures-of-aborted-babies-are-dead-bodies/

you are not alone
Open the doors of your heart…
(c)Mary TV 2013

J.M.J.
November 29, 2013

Dear Family of Mary!

“Dear children! Today I call all of you to prayer. Open the doors of your heart profoundly to prayer, little children, to prayer with the heart; and then the Most High will be able to act upon your freedom and conversion will begin. Your faith will become firm so that you will be able to say with all your heart: ‘My God, my all.’ You will comprehend, little children, that here on earth everything is passing. Thank you for having responded to my call.” (November 25, 2013)

Since we received this message on Monday, we have been trying to respond to it, not with words but with actions. We will again try to take some time for extra prayer today. Fr. Slavko will speak one last time about prayer with the heart, about profound prayer:

In a message of 28th March (1985) Our Lady said: “In prayer you will find the deepest joy.” But precisely in that prayer is where you find Our Lord.

Prayer is a meeting with God speaking to us, leading us, giving us light, saving us. Our Lord who introduced himself as a Father and Jesus Christ as our Brother, as our Friend. In our meeting with Him we must have a deeper joy and one of us has anything against this deep joy.

We must wonder how to pray, how to meet this father, this brother, this friend? God revealed Himself in Jesus Christ.

Before this [message], Our Lady also said another thing: “Pray with your hearts,” that is not only to repeat something in words. An example: in a kitchen you can find every kind of food, but you can still starve if you do not eat well or if you do not eat at all. Many people pray but do not feel this joy, this deep peace. Why? We must say: They do not pray as they should, they do not meet Our Lord as they ought to in order to receive this joy. What may be their predicament to pray and not feel anything?

If you want to meet one of your friends, you must look for him, you must find time to speak to him, to listen to him… If you want to have a satisfactory meeting you make preparations so that you will not be disturbed. If you do not have the time, if you do not try to arrange the meeting, if you do not try to say anything to the other person, you cannot have a meeting even on a human level.

The same thing can be said, I think, also of prayer, if you are determined to pray. At the beginning of her apparitions, Our Lady used to recommend: “Recite the Creed”. If you have made up your minds to carry out whatever Our Lady has asked of you, you must get ready; that is, find the time and take time when you can be for God alone, when the telephone cannot interrupt you, nor your wife…a little corner in your house, and say: this half hour is only for prayer. Find the time, the place and begin as you can.

I am telling you to begin as you can. In the beginning Our Lady requested the Creed, seven Our Father’s and fasting one day of the week. They are the concrete and simple things to begin with. And anyone who has begun like this finding every day a little time for prayer, has been able to learn how to pray. We must begin as when we started to pronounce the first words with our mothers. We must begin as we can and go on continuously in this way. Look for a time, a place; try to speak to and listen to God. In this concrete manner it is possible to go deeply into prayer and you will, from day to day, feel a mood for prayer. (Fr. Slavko Barbaric. March 30, 1985, Medjugorje)

How do we meet this Father, this Brother, this Friend? We must work to find the time, the place, and the quietness of heart to meet our Lord. It is worth the effort. It will help us to rid our hearts of our practical atheism, and to fill our lives with the joy of God!

Thank you, dearest Mother, for coming to teach us to prayer. Let our efforts to enter into profound prayer be blessed and fruitful! We need prayer of the heart!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Young Boy With Cancer Loses Health Insurance Thanks to Obamacare
The family of a young boy in Texas has less to be thankful for this Thanksgiving — because their cancer-stricken little boy has lost his health insurance due to Obamacare.
Hunter Alford is described by his parents as a “wild, fun loving, zombie-killing boy who loves the military and police.” However, he was born with a rare form of cancer and lost his health insurance just after Obamacare went into effect, according to a report in WND.

Sadly, Hunter is one of many cancer patients who are losing their health care due to Obmacare’s rules and regulations.

President Abraham Lincoln’s 1863 Thanksgiving Proclamation
The year that is drawing toward its close has been filled with the blessings of fruitful fields and healthful skies. To these bounties, which are so constantly enjoyed that we are prone to forget the source from which they come, others have been added which are of so extraordinary a nature that they can not fail to penetrate and soften even the heart which is habitually insensible to the ever-watchful providence of Almighty God.

In the midst of a civil war of unequaled magnitude and severity, which has sometimes seemed to foreign states to invite and to provoke their aggression, peace has been preserved with all nations, order has been maintained, the laws have been respected and obeyed, and harmony has prevailed everywhere, except in the theater of military conflict, while that theater has been greatly contracted by the advancing armies and navies of the Union. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/11/22/president-abraham-lincolns-1863-thanksgiving-proclamation/

Thanksgiving for Our Lady

Caritas November 28, 2013 A.D.

November 28, 2013 A.D.
Today in the United States, we celebrate the feast of Thanksgiving. All across the country, families are preparing their special meals, often driving long distances to be near loved ones, family, and friends. At Caritas, we do not need to drive far to be near those we love, for Our Lady has risen up here a special place, where a group of sinners can be blessed beyond anything that could ever be paid back in the beauty of the gift of the life Our Lady has given. Today, we look back to Thanksgiving Day 25 years ago, when Our Lady first appeared in the Field of Apparitions. Our Lady said on that Thanksgiving Day:
November 24, 1988

“I invite you to live my messages. I am here to help you! I will intercede for you to God for all your intentions.”
How much She has blessed our founder, his family and the Caritas Community since that time 25 years ago. Our Lady has been true to Her word, in that She has been here to help us, more times than we can count. Our founder, and the Caritas Community could not even begin to tell of the times that Our Lady has come to our rescue when we needed it most in our mission. Today we thank God for sending Our Lady to us, and for being here to help us.

The Field of Apparitions

A picture of the Field of Apparitions this morning, shortly after 6 AM. This morning was a very cold and frosty morning as the founder and the heads of the households, along with the single consecrated, gathered silently for our daily 5 AM prayer. To the left, the Cross on Penitentiary mountain is just becoming visible in the morning light. To the right, Mary’s Tree, the lone pine that stands in the Field of Apparitions. We reflect: the Cross – Jesus. The Tree, the Creator – the Father. The Holy Spirit in His love between them, fully possessed by His spouse, Our Lady – the only created being to dwell in the midst of the Trinity. The Trinity present here in a visible way. Our Lady points the way for us with Her hands extended between the Son and the Father telling us, this is your God, your All.

November 25, 2013

“Dear children! I call all of you to prayer. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

For your spiritual nourishment, tonight, gather your family and friends and listen to the November 25, 2013 Radio WAVE show with A Friend of Medjugorje titled, “My God, My All” – visit here to listen.

GIVE THANKS FOR IT ALL

Christian Hansen for The New York Times

Happy Thanksgiving everybody! This is the best time of the year in the Bronx. The people started lining up outside our friary at 3 AM. They were joyfully (mostly) waiting in the cold and rain for hours to receive a thanksgiving food bag and a blessing. How we are humbled by the Anawim, the little poor ones of God. It reminded me of 1 Cor 1: 26-29:

“For consider your call, brethren; not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth; but God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong, God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God.”

Br. Innocent and Br. Tansi prepare some treats.

Today would be a great day to pray the Thanksgiving Canticle from Daniel 3:51-90, giving thanks to the Lord for everything. Here is a funny memory: We hosted some friars from Africa for a while. I sat next to Br. Emmanuel in the chapel, he was my chapel buddy. During the lines, “cold and chill” he would not answer “bless the Lord“. During the lines, “fire and heat” I would not answer “bless the Lord“. Sometimes we were laughing so much that we could barely finish the prayer. It is our faith that allows us to give thanks to God for it all.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Lifeissues.net: clear thinking about crucial issues

 Dear Friends for Life,

Australia: State Approves Sex Selection of Boys in IVF

Health authorities in Western Australia have become the first to approve sex selection in IVF to reduce the risk of autism. The Reproductive Technology Council has permitted the use of preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) in fertility clinics to determine gender, seeking to identify and eliminate males believed to have a greater likelihood of developing autism. Sperm may also be screened and only those with the “X” chromosome to ensure a girl would be used.

PGD is purposed for families who have more than one boy with autism, as males are four times more likely to have autism and families with one child with autism have a higher chance of future children having autism. Chief Medical Officer at the Department of Health Dr. Gary Geelhoed explained there is simple test to determine the sex stating, “In this case, the council considers those at risk of having another child, a boy with severe autism, they will use this technique to ensure a healthy girl is born.”

However, the technique cannot guarantee the health of the baby girl as the development of autism varies in girls and boys and includes factors that have yet to be verified as triggers for autism.

God Bless,
Jerry Novotny, OMI

ITEM #1: Gene silencing technique offers hope for cure for Down syndrome

Is it possible to “cure” Down syndrome? Jeanne Lawrence, of the University Massachusetts Medical School, believes that it could happen some day.

****************************************

ITEM #2: Gynecology before Roe v. Wade

Thanks largely to the efforts of one doctor, abortion was formally condemned.

****************************************

ITEM #3: Creation of Human Embryos With Three Parents Facing Massive Opposition

The Catholic position on family planning is sometimes caricatured as if the Church intends the faithful not to discern their family size responsibly, but rather to have as many children as their fertility will allow, what Pope John Paul II referred to in 1994 as “an ideology of fertility at all costs.” This is silly and anyone who believes it has not made a serious effort to find out the truth.

****************************************

ITEM #4: Am I Pro-Life?

You may think that the answer to that question is pretty straightforward, a simple matter of opinions held or asserted, or not, but there’s more to it than meets the eye. Many think that it’s simply a question of whether you hold a certain political view or not: for or against the right to kill others in certain situations, like saying, “it’s ok to kill a person who is in an embryonic, fetal or otherwise unborn state.” Or, “it’s ok to kill others who are just born, very old, very disabled, genetically-different, chronically-ill or who take up too much time in the hospital, who cost too much for the taxpayer-funded government services.” Or not.

****************************************

ITEM #5: Three-Parent Families – the Gay Agenda’s Trojan Horse – Legalized in California

Norman Wells, director of the Family Education Trust, previously warned, “It’s always a recipe for disaster to try and create children to order by artificial means to satisfy the desires of natural parents who are unrelated and lack a shared commitment to parenting.”

****************************************

ITEM #6: The Couple Having Four Babies By Two Surrogates

A British couple are to become parents of two sets of twin babies carried by two Indian surrogate women they have never met. Experts say twiblings – or children born to separate surrogates but created from the same batch of embryos – are not uncommon in India.

****************************************

ITEM #7 Palliative Care Often Errantly Reduced To End-of-life Care

Palliative care, a specialized, multidisciplinary team approach to caring for seriously ill people and their families, is often errantly reduced to end-of-life care. This misconception has led to palliative care involvement being introduced late in an illness, often depriving patients and their families of comprehensive symptom control, support and assistance with complex decision-making throughout the course of their illness when it could provide the most benefit.

****************************************

ITEM #8: U.N. Report: Too Many Girls Too Young To Give Birth

A 16-year-old girl pleads with her parents not to barter her into a marriage.

****************************************

ITEM #9: China’s Brutal One-Child Policy

Stubborn hard-liners will not willingly abandon population control measures that have provided the government with an estimated two trillion yuan in revenue from fines, according to the demographer He Yafu, while allowing it to maintain firm control over people’s lives.

****************************************

ITEM #10: Road to Designer Babies

Too often the ability to do something implies the justification to do it. But should we do everything that we can do?

****************************************

ITEM #11: Euthanasia puts the elderly at risk

The current euthanasia debate in Quebec frightens me. As a woman of a certain age, I fear I am heading into a future where I may lose meaningful control of my life. Whether I live or die may hinge on the kindness of individuals unknown to me, perhaps nurses or doctors, who will be put in the position of determining my worth.

****************************************

ITEM #12: Sweetening the pill

A young woman dissolves the sugar coating on the contraceptive pill and exposes its harmful, anti-woman core.
