American Life League's 2011 MOLOCH AWARDS

Moloch was a false god that Israel would worship during its periods of apostasy. Followers that worshipped this counterfeit deity would sacrifice their children to it by heating up this idol with fire until it was glowing hot and then place their newborn babies into the arms of the idol.

What better way to honor the modern day version of misguided leaders that sacrifice our children and culture to political correctness and false beliefs than with awards named for the phony philosophy of Moloch.

Millstone Award
Winner – Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood

Did you do your part in 2011 to help debase America's next generation? No worry; the recipient of this year's Millstone Award was pretty much a lock! Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood in Albany, New York, hired teens for $75 biweekly to "peer-educate" other teens on the benefits of unfettered sex and abortion. As part of the interview process for its STARS (Seriously Talking about Responsible Sex) program, applicants were required to attend a homosexual parade. And he icing on the cake? The program was paid for with taxpayer dollars!

St. Thomas Less Award
Winner – Nancy Pelosi

Granted only to high-profile politicians who outrival all others at checking their Catholic faith at the door. The competition for 2011 was stiff, but former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi still has the edge, due to her unmatched capacity to proclaim her staunch devotion to Catholicism, contraception, abortion, and homosexuality simultaneously. We hope this DVD of A Man for all Seasons will teach Ms. Pelosi how to get More into her faith.

Syllabus of Errors Award
Winner – National Catholic Reporter

Condemned by the local bishop for its "poisonous character" and "disregard and denial of the most sacred values of our Catholic faith," the National Catholic Reporter has reached new journalistic heights when it comes to insisting that it has a Catholic identity even while it works assiduously to undermine established Catholic teaching. We're confident the Reporter will find this trove of heresies an indispensable resource for being wrong about the faith and distorting Church teachings well into the future.

Detective Monkey Award
Winner – John Carr, Catholic Campaign for Human Development

And the winner is … John Carr, whose office at the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops oversees the Catholic Campaign for Human Development. No, the CCHD didn't find monkeys, but it was able to meticulously combine the investigative skills of Inspector Clouseau and the observational acumen of Mizaru, the See No Evil monkey. Voila! Despite its reformed screening process, the CCHD continued funneling millions of dollars to groups that directly or indirectly support Marxism, abortion, homosexual marriage, and other activities that are anathema to faithful Catholics.

Fuzzy Math Award
Winner – Planned Parenthood

For advancements in the art of lying with statistics, Planned Parenthood Federation of America wins this award, hands down. PPFA distinguished itself by boldly claiming that committing abortions comprises only 3% of its business, although 1/3 of its "clinic" revenues are generated by making sure only 2-3 of 100 pregnant patients ever leave a PP clinic with their preborn baby still alive. And just for extra credit, PPFA also assured poor women they can rely on PP facilities for mammograms that, in fact, PP doesn't provide.

Hemlock Yuk Award
Winner – Rachel Maddow

This award goes to MSNBC commentator Rachel Maddow, for her rant against ALL's "The Pill Kills" seminar. We're not sure if she's just a pill or just ignorant of the harmful side effects of the pill. In any case, we hope her Hemlock Yuk Award (which includes Mr. Yuk stickers) will teach her that THESE PILLS ARE BAD-DO NOT EAT THEM.

"BFF" Award

Winner – Planned Parenthood and Kathleen Sebelius

This award is shared by Kathleen Sebelius, secretary of Health and Human Services, and her best fiend for life, Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood. Whether imposing federal power on states that have defunded PP, shredding evidence needed for a criminal investigation, or handing out the morning-after pill as if it were candy, rumor has it that BFFs Sebelius and Richards are so in bed together they need only one twin sheet for abortion- themed sleepovers. Like love lockets, the award's two matching part remind each recipient of how much they mean to each other in promoting abortion fun-whether those dumb ole taxpayers like it or not!

40days2

Dear Deacon,

Sue Thayer did something that no other local 40 Days
for Life leader had ever done before. She led the fall
2011 campaign outside the Planned Parenthood abortion
center in Storm Lake, Iowa …

… a facility she used to manage!

More on Sue's story in just a bit. She just e-mailed
me with exciting news.

The local newspaper is reporting that the Planned
Parenthood facility in Storm Lake …

… the one Sue used to manage …

… the one where Sue led the 40 Days for Life vigil …

… is CLOSING its doors for good on March 1!

That's right. This location is GOING OUT OF BUSINESS!

This is the 21st abortion center where a 40 Days for
Life vigil has been conducted that will be closing its
doors forever.

"Wow!" Sue said in her e-mail. "Of course the clinic
is closing! God hears our prayers and He answers! No
more telemed abortions on Erie Street! Yay God!!"

If you haven't heard of telemed abortions, it's one of
Planned Parenthood's tactics for spreading abortion to
rural areas to increase abortion numbers and revenues.

The abortions happen when an abortionist speaks to a
woman via webcam over the Internet. They're each at
computer terminals, miles apart, and the "doctor"
never physically examines or cares for his "patient."

After a video interview, the abortionist pushes a
button at his location. That opens a locked drawer
next to the computer where the woman is watching …
a drawer containing the dangerous RU-486 abortion pill.

The woman then takes the pill to begin what Planned
Parenthood calls a "medication abortion."

Sue Thayer had managed the Planned Parenthood office in
Storm Lake. She used to think that Planned Parenthood
provided valuable services for women and that the
organization truly wanted to prevent abortions (the
Storm Lake location did not previously do abortions).

That all changed when Planned Parenthood mandated
telemed abortions for her facility. Sue expressed her
concern — and the abortion chain promptly fired her.

After a time of healing, prayer and discernment, Sue
signed up to lead the 40 Days for Life campaign outside
her former workplace this past fall.

Sue was just profiled this past weekend in an article
in the Des Moines Register. You can read the story at:

http://tinyurl.com/7auvonf

Just days after that article appeared — and less than
three months after Sue finished leading the 40 Days for
Life campaign outside the Storm Lake Planned Parenthood
— the closure was announced.

"Let's all take some time to thank God for His unending
love and faithfulness," Sue said. "40 Days For Life was
a blessing to each and every person who prayed. Now the
Lord has answered with a resounding YES to our petition
to end abortion in Storm Lake. Praise the Lord!"

AMEN, Sue!

In just three weeks, the next 40 Days for Life campaign
begins. Watch VERY SOON for the list of communities that
will be taking part …

… and maybe — through your prayers and participation
— YOUR community will be the next one praising God for
the closure of the local abortion center.

I can't wait to see what God has in store for this next
campaign, Deacon!

For Life,

Shawn Carney

CATHOLIC LEAGUE

FOR RELIGIOUS AND CIVIL RIGHTS

January 31, 2012

Senator Marco Rubio introduced legislation today to repeal the Obama administration’s mandate requiring healthcare plans to cover abortifacients, contraception and sterilization.

Catholic League president Bill Donohue comments as follows:

The Catholic community will be delighted to learn of the courage shown by Sen. Marco Rubio in seeking to combat the Obama administration’s unprecedented assault on religious liberty. If the administration were to get its way, Catholic non-profit institutions would be forced to carry healthcare services that the Church deems immoral. What’s at stake is the First Amendment right to religious liberty, and nothing goes to the heart of this civil liberty more than conscience rights.

The Catholic League appreciates the incredible support we are receiving from people of all faiths, as well as from some agnostics and atheists. We pledge to them that we will support our bishops in pursuing every legitimate remedy to this outrageous threat to religious liberty. Sen. Rubio has properly titled his bill the “Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 2012.”

North Dakota Abortion Clinic Sues to Continue Dangerous Misuse of Abortion Pills

January 31, 2012

Fargo, North Dakota – The Red River Women’s Clinic, which is the only abortion clinic in North Dakota, is challenging a new law that is aimed  at protecting women from the misuse of the dangerous abortion-inducing drug mifeprex, also known as RU486.

East Central District Judge Wickham Corwin issued a temporary restraining order against the law on August 1, then heard arguments about its Constitutionality on Friday, January 27, 2012. Judge Corwin delayed making a decision until he could review more information about the safety of the drug. Additional briefs are due in two weeks.

The new law would virtually ban medication abortions in North Dakota and would place the requirement that a licensed physician be present when the drugs are administered. This would prevent what is known as telemed or “webcam” abortions from taking place where unlicensed and inadequately trained workers dispense the dangerous drugs after the patient has had a brief consultation over an Internet video conferencing connection with an abortionist in another location. This abortion pill distribution was first uncovered by an Operation Rescue undercover investigation.

Attorneys for the Center for Reproductive Rights, a pro-abortion New York law firm, argue that the law creates an “undue burden” on women.

Clinic director Tammy Kromenaker told reporters that the FDA protocol “isn’t good for women” and defended her misuse of the two drug cocktail. Twenty percent of Kromenaker’s annual abortion business is done in medication abortions.

“It is ludicrous to say that requiring steps to ensure patient safety creates an ‘undue burden’ on them. I’d rather be inconvenienced than dead,” said Cheryl Sullenger, Senior Policy Advisor for Operation Rescue and Pro-life Nation. “This is really about keeping that abortion clinic open no matter who suffers.”

Currently the Red River Women’s Clinic uses an off-label application of the abortion pill in conjunction with an ulcer drug called Cytotec (Misoprostol) to force women to artificially abort their pre-born babies in an event that simulates miscarriage. Manufacturers of Cytotec have issued warnings against using the drug to induce abortions.

Red River Women’s Clinic also uses the abortion pill in violation of FDA protocols, which require at least two office visits in addition to follow-up care and limits the use of RU-486 to under seven weeks. Red River improperly uses the abortion pill through nine weeks of pregnancy. The medication abortion process causes the body to reject the implanted baby and force contractions to expel the remains. It can be a long, painful process that lasts multiple days. The abortion fails 7-20% of the time, creating a potentially life-threatening condition that requires surgical intervention.

There have been at least 15 documented deaths from use of the abortion pill.

“We do not support the use of the abortion pill under any circumstances out of concern for women and their pre-born babies. However, the rejection of the FDA’s minimal safety protocols by Red River Women’s Clinic shows that they care more about protecting a significant portion of their abortion income than they care about the health and safety of women,” said Sullenger. “They don’t want to follow the rules they and they don’t want to follow the law because they are abortionists and think they are above the law.  We hope that the judge considering this case does the right thing and protects women from predatory abortion practices such as the dangerous misuse of abortion-causing drugs.”
