Dear Family of Mary!
 
“Dear children! Also today, I am calling you to return to prayer. In this time of grace, God has permitted me to lead you towards holiness and a simple life – that in little things you discover God the Creator; that you fall in love with Him; and that your life be a thanksgiving to the Most High for everything He is giving you. Little children, in love, may your life be a gift for others and God will bless you; but you, witness without interest – out of love for God. I am with you and intercede before my Son for all of you. Thank you for having responded to my call.” (November 25, 2016)
 
In our quest to follow Our Lady’s November 25, 2016 message, as she leads us in simplicity and holiness, it seems that pondering the goodness of God will help us. God’s goodness is everywhere to behold. But we so often live an entire day without beholding it, wondering at it, or celebrating it.
 
Our Lady gave us this message about God’s goodness:
 
 “Dear Children! Today I invite you to go into nature because there you will meet God the Creator. Today I invite you, little children, to thank God for all that He gives you. In thanking Him you will discover the Most High and all the goods that surround you. Little children, God is great and His love for every creature is great. Therefore, pray to be able to understand the love and goodness of God. In the goodness and the love of God the Creator, I also am with you as a gift. Thank you for having responded to my call.”  (October 25, 1995)
 
I personally need to follow Our Lady’s advice. I am getting too stressed already about Christmas and my work and responsibilities. Anxiety and stress are NOT good! They are NOT of God!! Simplicity and trust ARE good!   I also found this passage from St. Faustina. It is helpful:
 
O inconceivable goodness of God, which shields us at every step, may Your mercy be praised without cease. That You became a brother to humans, not to angels, is a miracle of the unfathomable mystery of Your mercy. All our trust is in You, our first-born Brother, Jesus Christ, true God and true Man. My heart flutters with joy to see how good God is to us wretched and ungrateful people. And as a proof of His love, He gives us the incomprehensible gift of Himself in the person of His Son. Throughout all eternity we shall never exhaust that mystery of love. O mankind, why do you think so little about God being truly among us? O Lamb of God, I do not know what to admire in You first: Your gentleness, Your hidden life, the emptying of Yourself for the sake of man, or the constant miracle of Your mercy, which transforms souls and raises them up to eternal life. Although   You are hidden in this way, Your omnipotence is more manifest here than in the creation of man. Though the omnipotence of Your mercy is at work in the justification of the sinner, yet Your action is gentle and hidden. (1584 Diary)
 
Let’s pray for each other, that we can all immerse ourselves in the goodness of God. It will be a healing balm for our souls. Something we all need!

Criminal Charges Filed Against Anglican Priest Arrested at San Bernardino Planned Parenthood

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif., Nov. 29, 2016 /Christian Newswire/ — Last month, Father James Linton was arrested outside the San Bernardino Planned Parenthood for offering to pray with women entering the abortion facility. Police held him for six hours and cited him for interfering with and obstructing access to a business. On November 2, the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office formally charged Linton, accusing him of violating Penal Code section 602.1 (a) (Interference with a Business). If convicted, Fr. Linton could be sentenced to up to 90 days in jail and a $400 fine.

When he was arrested, Fr. Linton, an Anglican pastor, was standing on a public easement offering incoming mothers and fathers alternatives to abortion and praying for them to change their minds. “The arrest of Fr. Linton is outrageous,” stated Allison Aranda, Senior Staff Counsel for the Life Legal Defense Foundation and a former prosecutor for Riverside County. “Fr. Linton certainly did not intend to interfere with Planned Parenthood’s ability to conduct its business. Rather, he simply offered assistance and alternatives to its patrons that could save the lives of their precious babies.”

Last year, the Center for Medical Progress released the videos of its undercover investigation of Planned Parenthood. At the time, Fr. Linton’s wife was pregnant with their third child. “The combination of seeing abortion victims sorted through for parts and my wife being pregnant destroyed me,” he said. “She organized a protest and I’ve been in front of the clinic every Friday since.”

Every Friday, starting at 6 a.m., the San Bernardino Planned Parenthood performs abortions up to 20 weeks of pregnancy. Due in part to Fr. Linton’s faithful presence and success at saving babies, the abortion facility recently built a wall in an attempt to hinder sidewalk counselors and prevent them from speaking to mothers and fathers in the parking lot.

Fr. Linton and the other sidewalk counselors outside the San Bernardino Planned Parenthood are doing nothing more than exercising their Constitutional right to speak freely on the public sidewalk and rights of way in their community. They are not violating the law. “In fact, the code section under which Fr. Linton was charged, specifically exempts from criminal liability, those who are engaging in activities that are protected by the California and United States Constitution,” Ms. Aranda noted.

Life Legal will vigorously defend Fr. Linton from these false charges and we will fight to preserve and protect the rights of all sidewalk counselors to share life saving information with mothers entering the San Bernardino abortion clinic.

In this season of giving, please remember the women and babies of China, who are still enduring conditions that are beyond imagination.  At this moment, there are women in China who have gotten pregnant without a “birth permit” and are still in danger of being dragged away for a forced abortion. Baby girls in China are still in danger of selective abortion and abandonment.

You may have heard that China has “abandoned” its One Child Policy. This is not true.
Regarding the new Two-Child Policy, blind activist Chen Guangcheng tweeted, “This is nothing to be happy about. First the (Chinese government) would kill any baby after one. Now they will kill any baby after two.”

The brutality continues. Under China’s new Two-Child Policy, unmarried mothers and third babies are still being forcibly aborted. On July 22, 2016, for example, a Guangdong couple was told they must have an abortion or both lose their government jobs. The wife was eight months pregnant. On October 28, 2016, the BBC ran a groundbreaking report, interviewing a family currently in hiding to give birth to their third child. The father stated, “If we weren’t in hiding, they would have forced us to have an abortion.”

Further, according to the most recent State Department Report, the number of abortions in China has increased from 13 to 23 million a year. 23 million abortions a year comes to 63,013 abortions a day, 2625 abortions an hour, 43 per minute!

Meanwhile, China leads the world in the sex-selective abortion of baby girls. Our Save a Girl campaign is saving the lives of baby girls at risk of being aborted or abandoned because of son preference in China! Through our network of on-the- ground fieldworkers, we are able to reach women who are pregnant with or who have just given birth to a girl, and are being pressured to abort or abandon her. We offer these mothers encouragement and a monthly stipend for a year, empowering them to keep their daughters. We have an overwhelming success rate and have saved hundreds of precious babies through this campaign.

After two years’ study, Anni won a competition play at Carnegie Hall in December 2016.

We also rescued Zhang Anni, the persecuted daughter of dissident Zhang Lin. She was called “China’s youngest prisoner of conscience,” as she was kidnapped out of her elementary school at age 10 and detained overnight. The Chinese government persecuted Anni in an attempt to silence her heroic father. We raised the visibility of Anni’s case internationally and then conducted quiet diplomacy to get her out of China. She is now living with my husband and me and we are raising her as our own daughter. After only two years of study, Anni won a piano competition and will be performing in Carnegie Hall in December 2016! We are so proud of our beautiful, talented Chinese daughter. She is a constant reminder of the beauty and brilliance that are being lost every day in China through sex-selective abortion.

Dear Family of Mary!
 
I am tickled pink that in this first week of Advent we are presented with this Scripture about being simple, like children. What a way to start off the Season of Waiting for the Lord!
 
Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said,
“I give you praise, Father, Lord of heaven and earth,
for although you have hidden these things
from the wise and the learned
you have revealed them to the childlike.
Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will…. (Lk 10:21)  
 
It always amazes me that Jesus would say such a thing! He was a grown man, he knew how society worked, He knew about power and authority and control. And yet, He rejoiced in the Holy Spirit because the wonders of the Father’s love and will were only accessible to children and those whose hearts were childlike. Wisdom was revealed to the childlike. It was a source of great merriment and joy for Jesus!!
 
We might ask ourselves if we really buy what Jesus is rejoicing about. Do we see the irony? In a world where the clever and cruel seem to be on top, do we actually believe that it is the childlike who see things for what they are? Do we understand that the true power in the world lies in trustful surrender to the One who created us all? Do we live out of that great truth?
 
Our Lady is trying to help us get back to the childlike spirit that Jesus rejoices over:
 
“Dear children! Also today, I am calling you to return to prayer. In this time of grace, God has permitted me to lead you towards holiness and a simple life – that in little things you discover God the Creator; that you fall in love with Him; and that your life be a thanksgiving to the Most High for everything He is giving you. Little children, in love, may your life be a gift for others and God will bless you; but you, witness without interest – out of love for God. I am with you and intercede before my Son for all of you. Thank you for having responded to my call.” (November 25, 2016)
 
God is allowing Our Lady to lead us towards holiness and a simple life. She wants to help us become childlike. Hurrah!! This is great news. This Advent, we might ask Our Lady to work on us so that we become more simple. If we could grow a little bit each day in simplicity of life, trusting in the Father, thanking Him for everything, enjoying everything He gives us, falling in love with the Father and doing everything for Him, we might find ourselves ready for the Birth of Jesus!!

Dear Family of Mary!
 
“Dear children! Also today, I am calling you to return to prayer. In this time of grace, God has permitted me to lead you towards holiness and a simple life – that in little things you discover God the Creator; that you fall in love with Him; and that your life be a thanksgiving to the Most High for everything He is giving you. Little children, in love, may your life be a gift for others and God will bless you; but you, witness without interest – out of love for God. I am with you and intercede before my Son for all of you. Thank you for having responded to my call.” (November 25, 2016)
 
I am struck with the simplicity of this message. Our Lady does not call us to approach God through long hours of study. She tells us that God is allowing her to lead us towards holiness and a simple life! This is something she can do so well! Our Lady is so holy, and so simple. And she shines with the joy of heaven!
 
St. Faustina understood Our Lady’s simplicity as well. At the beginning of Advent, 1937, St. Faustina wrote this:
 
Advent is approaching. I want to prepare my heart for the coming of the Lord Jesus by silence and recollection of spirit, uniting myself with the Most Holy Mother and faithfully imitating Her virtue of silence, by which she found pleasure in the eyes of God Himself. I trust that by Her side, I will persevere in this resolution. (Diary 1398)

St. Faustina desired to be united with Our Lady, to stay very close to her, so that she could grow in holiness. It was Our Lady’s silence and recollection of spirit that Faustina wanted to imitate. I believe that the simple life that Our Lady offers us is that life of silence and recollection, a life in which we ponder and wonder at everything in creation, because it is all a gift of the Father.
 
I propose that we all pray as St. Faustina did, so that this Advent will be one prolonged prayer of thanksgiving to God for all He has done for us, and a silent preparation for the coming of Jesus. What could be better!!
