We understand the “game” that PP plays on a daily basis to convince people of its worth, but we also understand the truth – that playing with and destroying innocent lives is never a game. Learn how to discern and teach the truth. . . .

The diabolical human right to kill your preborn child appears to be at the heart of Planned Parenthood’s game. Whether in Congress, on the pages of daily newspapers, on the Internet, or in the media in general, PP’s rhetoric has become the popular language by which it expects to maintain federal funding. Planned Parenthood’s playbook contains all the trigger words needed to create the idea that a right to abortion is the equivalent of a human right, a social justice right, a reproductive right, and even a civil right. The facts regarding what abortion actually is and why it is wrong simply are not addressed.

Deacon John,

No one grows up wanting to work in an abortion facility.

That’s why at 40 Days for Life vigils, we pray for everyone impacted – the babies, women, men – and even those who work in the abortion industry.

The pro-life movement is movement of converts … and therefore, a movement of hope.

There have been 143 abortion facility workers who have experienced conversions and left their jobs during 40 Days for Life campaigns.

image

Take Abby Johnson, the director of the Planned Parenthood location where 40 Days for Life first began.

When she walked into my office in 2009, Abby became the 26th abortion worker to leave during a 40 Days for Life campaign.

She has since helped hundreds of other workers leave through her ministry, And Then There Were None.

image

Ramona Trevino was a Planned Parenthood manager before she left during the first-ever 40 Days for Life vigil outside of her workplace.

These employees’ conversions are examples of the mercy of Christ.

We share some of the amazing stories of workers – including doctors – who have left the abortion industry in this new podcast.

image

If you enjoy that podcast, you can hear the impact your prayers have on abortion facility employees from another former abortion worker Jewels Green in this episode.

Not safe (again)

As we pray outside the abortion center, the first ones on our minds and hearts are the babies, whose lives are in imminent danger.

But the mothers’ lives can be in danger as well – despite the abortion industry’s claims that abortion is a “safe procedure.”

At least six times already during this campaign including twice at the Planned Parenthood center in St. Louis, Missouri ambulance crews have arrived at abortion facilities to take clients to the hospital.

Planned Parenthood in particular harps on the “safety” angle. But as Brian in St. Louis noted, “Planned Parenthood staff spent more time getting in the way of the stretcher with a large canvas versus ensuring this person was able to receive proper medical care.”

Brian said it appears that Planned Parenthood’s slogan is no longer “Care, no matter what,” but “Hide, deceive and block, no matter what.”

Brisbane, Australia

This is the tenth 40 Days for Life vigil in Brisbane … where prayer volunteers serve as a visible presence outside the Marie Stopes abortion facility. The campaign was the subject of an article in the Brisbane Catholic Leader.

“Everyone on the pro-choice side would love to not think about abortion and the damage it causes in women and society,” local coordinator Brendan Wong told the newspaper.

“By being visible and loving and prayerful, we present the option for people to bring up abortion in a healthy and respectable way.”

Brendan said attendance at the campaign’s midpoint rally was larger than in previous years. “We could always do with more people getting involved and spreading the word,” he added. “It’s a visible sign that we care.”

Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them.

—Psalm 139:16

Gracious God, help us to appreciate the wonder and beauty of Your creation. Help us proclaim on behalf of every one of our fellow human beings, “I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” May the knowledge that we are intimately known by You shape our lives and actions.

Dear Family of Mary!

On Sunday, April 2, we expect another message from Our Lady. In order to prepare, let’s revisit the message from March 2.

“Dear children!  With motherly love I am coming to help you to have more love and that means more faith.  I am coming to help you to live with love the words of my Son, so that the world would be different.  Therefore, apostles of my love, I am gathering you around myself.  Look at me with the heart, speak to me as to a mother about your pains, sufferings and your joys.  Ask me to pray to my Son for you.  My Son is merciful and just.  My motherly heart would desire for you also to be like that.  My motherly heart would desire that you, apostles of my love, speak of my Son and of me to all those around you with your life; so that the world would be different; that simplicity and purity would return; that faith and hope would return.  Therefore, my children, pray, pray, pray with the heart, pray with love, pray with good works.  Pray that everyone would come to know my Son, so that the world would change, that the world would be saved.  With love live the words of my Son.  Do not judge, instead love one another so that my heart could triumph. Thank you.” (March 2, 2017)

Our Lady is with us to change the world! She needs our help. May we pray, pray, pray with the heart, pray with love, pray with good works and pray that everyone would come to know her Son, so that the world would change, that the world would be saved!!

Deacon John,

If I could ask you to read only one email this campaign — it would be this one!

This is the best sight I’ve seen since being part of 40 Days for Life.

This little girl is Milagros – her name means “Miracle.”

I wrote about her in the 40 Days for Life book. Her mom Rosa had experienced a number of difficult circumstances in life … and she was now pregnant. Then on top of that, doctors told her to get an abortion because her baby was “severely handicapped.”

Reluctantly, Rosa went into one of the largest abortion facilities in Southern California … where she met volunteers from the 40 Days for Life campaign in Orange. And they went to work.

They found new doctors – some of the best (and most pro-life) specialists in the Los Angeles area. They told Rosa that yes, there was a problem with the baby’s legs. But she was a healthy child and there was no reason in the world to abort her.

With ongoing support from the local community, she had her baby … and named her Milagros. Milagros was born with no legs.

image

Fast forward almost six years … and Milagros and her mom came out to the 40 Days for Life rally in Orange … and signed the 40 Days for Life bus!

Milagros may not be the first child saved during a 40 Days for Life vigil to add a signature to the bus … but just like her name suggests, she may be the most miraculous.

When you are frustrated at the state of our culture — keep going. You may not see results instantly … but in time God will reveal His miracles.

This is the result of your prayers, so … keep praying!

Falls Church, Virginia

“It was great to see so many faithful volunteers out for the midpoint rally on a very cold, blustery day,” said 40 Days for Life board chair Matt Britton

Matt spoke about the role of men in society and specifically the pro-life culture and in ending abortion, emphasizing the need for men to live a life of fidelity and charity to counteract the modern culture.

“This faithful team is determined to see the closure of this last abortion facility in Falls Church,” he said, “as they did a few years back when they witnessed the closure of the Falls Church Planned Parenthood.”

image

Southfield, Michigan

Volunteers participating in the 19th 40 Days for Life vigil in Southfield held a memorial service for children who are victims of abortion.

The group included parishioners from a local church – including members of two families.

“The joy-filled children playing outside the abortion center after the service were a stark contrast to the staff inside, who were finishing up their deadly work at 5:30 pm on a Saturday afternoon,” said one of the Southfield team leaders.

And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. Then she spoke out with a loud voice and said, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! But why is this granted to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For indeed, as soon as the voice of your greeting sounded in my ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.

—Luke 1:41-44

Jesus, open my eyes to your presence in the life of every child. Open my heart to joy in the birth of every child, a birth that reflects the joy of your own birth in Bethlehem. As you shared life in the womb of Mary, so now send your protection upon every child still in the womb, and grant to their mothers the strength and joy that comes from welcoming the gift of life.

Open your hearts to God’s mercy…
(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2017

J.M.J.

March 30, 2017

Dear Family of Mary!

“Dear children! In this time of grace, I am calling all of you to open your hearts to God’s mercy, to begin a new life through prayer, penance and a decision for holiness. This time of spring moves you to a new life, to a renewal, in your thoughts and hearts. Therefore, little children, I am with you to help you to say ‘yes’ to God and to God’s commandments with resoluteness. You are not alone; I am with you through the grace which the Most High gives me for you and your descendants. Thank you for having responded to my call.” (March 25, 2017)

Our Lady tells us in this message to “open your hearts to God’s mercy…” Of course we realize that there is no way to draw close to God without first recognizing our sinfulness and our dire need for His mercy. Mercy is the basis for our relationship with the Father. We have all sinned. No one deserves heaven on their own merit. It is the Mercy of God that draws us to Him, that makes the way for us to know, love and serve Him. His Mercy is our only hope!

That said, we can learn about this Mercy from a modern saint, St. Faustina Kowalska. Jesus chose this beautiful and simple Polish nun to be the apostle of His Mercy in the horrific 20th century. In the midst of terrible wars and social upheaval, St. Faustina brought the message of trust in God’s Mercy to suffering humanity.

Let’s listen to what Jesus told her about His Mercy:

Soul: Lord, I doubt that You will pardon my numerous sins; my misery fills me with fright.
Jesus: My mercy is greater than your sins and those of the entire world. Who can measure the extent of my goodness? For you I descended from heaven to earth; for you I allowed myself to be nailed to the cross; for you I let my Sacred Heart be pierced with a lance, thus opening wide the source of mercy for you. Come, then, with trust to draw graces from this fountain. I never reject a contrite heart. Your misery has disappeared in the depths of My mercy. Do not argue with Me about your wretchedness. You will give me pleasure if you hand over to me all your troubles and griefs. I shall heap upon you the treasures of My grace. (1486)

And again He told her:

My daughter, know that My Heart is mercy itself. From this sea of mercy, graces flow out upon the whole world. No soul that has approached Me has ever gone away unconsoled. All misery gets buried in the depths of My mercy, and every saving and sanctifying grace flows from this fountain. My daughter, I desire that your heart be an abiding place of My mercy. I desire that this mercy flow out upon the whole world through your heart. Let no one who approaches you go away without that trust in My mercy which I so ardently desire for souls.

Pray as much as you can for the dying. By your entreaties, obtain for them trust in My mercy, because they have most need of trust, and have it the least. Be assured that the grace of eternal salvation for certain souls in their final moments depends on your prayer. You know the whole abyss of My mercy, (129) so draw upon it for yourself and especially for poor sinners. Sooner would heaven and earth turn into nothingness than would My mercy not embrace a trusting soul. (1777)

Hearing these words of Jesus is like drinking in pure waters when we have been dying of thirst. We need God’s Mercy. We need His gentle forgiveness and total desire to justify us through His Passion and Death. How can we not open our hearts to God’s mercy?

The next three weeks are the pinnacle of our Christian faith, the celebration of the Passion and Death of Jesus and His Resurrection from the Dead at Easter. We also begin the Novena to Divine Mercy on Good Friday, culminating in the celebration of Divine Mercy Sunday on the Sunday after Easter.

This is the time of Mercy!! May we open our hearts to God’s Mercy through our careful and fervent prayer, penance and a decision for holiness as we enter into the Paschal Mystery!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

PS. Yesterday, March 29, 2017, Archbishop Henryk Hoser arrived in Medjugorje to begin his visitation as Special Envoy of the Holy See. He comes to Medjugorje to assess the needs of the pilgrims and the parish, the pastoral needs of all. Mary TV was on hand to live stream his arrival. He was greeted by the Pastor and his team of Franciscans of St. James Parish, as well as many parishioners and pilgrims. You can see his arrival on the Mary TV website at this link: http://marytv.tv/?page_id=1456

Let’s pray for Archbishop Hoser and all involved that the light and love of Jesus will surround them and enlighten them as to God’s will for this most beautiful village of Mary!
