Twitter Censors Black Pro-Lifers Blasting NAACP on Abortion
A coalition of African-American pro-life activists have had their Twitter account suspended after firing off Tweets challenging the NAACP over its position favoring abortion.

As LifeNews reported, the NAACP will host its 44th Image Awards Show to honor cultural and entertainment luminaries presenting the best face of black Americans. Leading black pro-life advocates will be on hand to protest the event, because the NAACP promotes abortion.

Arkansas Senate OKs Ban on Abortions After Heartbeat Begins
The Arkansas Senate voted today for a bill that would ban virtually all abortions in the state. The measure would ban abortions at the point when a unborn child’s heart starts to beat.

At 22 days into pregnancy, before most women know they are pregnant, unborn children complete the development of their heart to the point that a heartbeat begins and the bill would stop abortions at that point.

Doctor Insists Parents of Baby With Cleft Lip Starve Him to Death
I first heard about the Peterson family in what you might call a “chance meeting.” (Of course I don’t believe in chances; I believe that there is Someone who has a plan and a purpose behind the random occurrences in our lives.) And I firmly believe that this amazing family’s story needs to be told. It’s scary. It’s shocking. And its implications are dangerous. How many other hospitals starve babies to death, simply based on a “defect”? How many other doctors instruct new parents to leave their newborns to die or wallow in an institution for the rest of their lives?

Another Plaintiff Beats Obama HHS-Abortion Mandate in Court
Another family-owned business has initially defeated the Obama mandate in court, after it sued to stop it from being compelled to pay for drugs that may cause abortions for its employees.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit issued a preliminary injunction Wednesday that blocks enforcement of the Obama administration’s abortion pill mandate against a family-run business in Grote Industries v. Sebelius.

Woman: Planned Parenthood Falsified Abortion Records, Denied Me Ultrasound
The stinging tears and palpable heartbreak of a young woman deceived by Planned Parenthood say more than a book crammed with words ever could convey about the harm done to women when they are deprived of a glimpse of the humanity of their children before aborting them.

“I just got back from Planned Parenthood,” a visibly distraught young lady says in a YouTube video posted on January 19. She had just picked up records from a Planned Parenthood abortion that happened six years earlier. She says Planned Parenthood falsified the records regarding her age at the time of the abortion.

Documents Reveal Horrific Details of Botched 35-Week Abortion
Sometimes authors of magazines are allowed to witness abortions in the course of writing articles. Sometimes medical students who never had an opinion on abortion come to grips with the procedure after viewing one. People who observe abortion procedures or abortion remains usually come away with little doubt that abortion is killing a human being.

Author Verlyn Klinkenborg of Harper’s Magazine visited an abortion clinic for a 1995 article. After viewing the remains of an abortion at ten weeks, he wrote the following

Abortion Activists Confused After Planned Parenthood Drops “Pro-Choice”
It’s clear by now Planned Parenthood didn’t consult its friends before announcing plans to drop the term “pro-choice” from its lexicon.

Seems like a huge deal to me, particularly since Planned Parenthood offered no replacement. Planned Parenthood doesn’t make marketing missteps, but I think it just       did.

Parental Consent Doesn’t Save Babies From Abortion if Bypasses Abused
Questions have arisen over whether a parental consent law with the judicial bypass (which the U. S. Supreme Court requires in the case of consent) or a parental notice law with no judicial bypass is likely to save more children. This was prompted by Texas Right to Life considering how to change Texas’ parental consent with bypass law so as to be more effective.

Man Charged Who Assaulted Pregnant Girlfriend With Baseball Bat

Chen Guangcheng: Chinese Officials Make Big Bucks Forcing Abortions
Earlier this week, I wrote about a recent FRC event discussing China’s forced population control policies This weekend, CBS’s news program, “Sunday Morning” carried a feature on the world-famous Chinese dissident and artist Ai WeiWei. The story focused on an exhibit, running until February 24, at the Smithsonian Institution’s Hirshhorn Museum in Washington, D.C.

United Nations Engages in Major Population Control Debate
A major disagreement among demographic experts threatens to upend efforts to include population control and family planning programs in the United Nations new development agenda. Experts who view population growth as an obstacle to development are criticizing the “laissez-faire attitude” of developing countries toward population growth and high fertility. Yet other experts disagree, saying that population control and family planning are not essential to development strategies.

Eugenics Compensation Bill Reintroduced in North Carolina

Russia’s Underpopulation Problems Behind Foreign Adoption Ban
Vladimir Putin has sparked international outcry by banning adoptions of Russian children by American families. His action immediately halted the departure of hundreds of Russian orphans about to board planes to journey to a new life. It was a cruel move, widely condemned as “callous” and “vindictive.”.

Abortion is silently killing us. It outnumbers all other causes of death, combined. Using 2008 CDC stats and the latest nationwide abortion numbers (2008 survey from the Guttmacher Institute) we expose the number of killer of black Americans. Black leaders who used to call abortion, "genocide", have traded their convictions for political power.

As we mark the solemn 40th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision, I would like to address my column this week to our teens and young adults, who I believe will ultimately prevail in restoring a sense of respect for all human life, including the innocent baby in her mother’s womb. Please feel free to share this column with a young adult in your life, or ask them to look for it at

For much of the 40 years since the Supreme Court’s tragic Roe v. Wade decision ushering in an era of abortion on demand, we in the pro-life community have had little to cheer about. In the battle for hearts and minds, it has at times seemed as though we were losing ground, and fast. We could preach about the sacredness of all human life, about the harm that abortion does to women who are so often coerced by others into doing the unthinkable, and the lifetime of pain and regret so many of them, and the fathers of the aborted baby, face as a result. For a long time we were overwhelmed by even louder voices proclaiming “choice” to be the ultimate right. For too many of my generation, that argument was effective and catchy, and there is no changing their minds. This civil rights issue of our time – the right to life of the innocent baby in the womb – won’t be won by the older generation; it will be won by the young. It is to you that I address this message on this solemn anniversary.

Popular culture calls you the “Millennial Generation” because you came of age at the dawn of the Millennium. But I think of you as the “Ultrasound Generation.” You are different than any generation that came before you in that your very first baby pictures were taken not with you in your mother’s arms, but you alive in her womb.

Your generation is defined by technology. You have come to expect almost annual revolutionary technological breakthroughs that change the way we live and work. You have seen staggering medical advances that have given doctors wonderful new tools in fighting disease and injury. And you have grown up with ultrasound technology that has opened a window into the womb, allowing us to glimpse preborn babies from the earliest weeks of gestation.

You have seen your little brothers and sisters before they were born in these grainy videos and photographs pinned to the fridge. Your mom or your dad has shown you those first images of yourself. Some of you have even seen your own children for the first time with newer, clearer 3- and 4-dimensional ultrasound technology. You have gasped with wonder at the sight of little arms flailing and legs kicking, heads bobbing and hearts beating, mouths sucking thumbs.

You have seen, and you believe.

Let’s face it, you figured out a long time ago that your parents’ generation isn’t always right. So many have tried to convince you (as they have allowed themselves to be convinced) that an unborn baby is nothing more than a “clump of cells.” College professors, politicians, Hollywood glitterati, and media talking heads have hammered you with the message that the decision to abort has no more moral significance than having a wisdom tooth extracted. To be an enlightened adult, you will be told, you must support the “right to choose.” (They won’t tell you what, or who is being chosen.)

You are rightly skeptical. They may believe what they say, but in this matter they are wrong. Think of your first baby picture, the one on the flimsy paper with the dark background and the unmistakable image of you. You know better.

You have seen, and you believe.

I know it is not easy to go against the prevailing culture. But your generation has not been afraid to be countercultural. Besides, I have good news for you – you are not alone. The pro-abortion movement’s dark secret is that it has been losing the hearts and minds of young people for a number of years. And now the secret is out.

Just last month, the head of the nation’s largest abortion advocacy organization, stepped down, citing the need for someone younger to try to engage youth. Interestingly, she seemed to acknowledge that her side is losing you, the “Ultrasound Generation.”

“The intensity on that side will not go away,” she told the media. “They come to this issue as young people who want to overturn Roe v. Wade, and they’re going to do everything in their power. That view might change as they grow older and reality hits and personal experience happens, but right now the personal intensity is pretty high on that side.”

You know what? She’s right! I have seen that intensity myself in the young New Yorkers who pray at abortion clinics, lobby in Albany and climb onto buses in the pre-dawn darkness to join their fellow pro-lifers at the March for Life in Washington, D.C., as we did last Friday. When I look out into the sea of faces out on the Mall in the shadow of the Washington Monument, I see you. You know who I see when I look at the rallies on the pro-abortion side? I see people my age and older.

That pro-abortion leader and others like her are counting on you having some sort of grand epiphany once you get older and, as she said, “reality hits.” But what they aren’t counting on is that when you saw yourself, your kid brother or sister, your own child, in that ultrasound photo, reality did hit. And it hit hard.

You have seen, and you believe.

But here’s the tough part: It is not enough that you believe. It is not enough that you are sympathetic to the cause. Don’t get me wrong, I am thrilled to know that so many of you in the “Ultrasound Generation” are pro-life. But this can’t be a secret anymore. You need to proclaim it. It can’t come from me or from people my age; our time is rapidly passing. Now is your time.

My time has seen 55 million abortions in the United States since 1973. That is almost exactly the population of New York State and California combined. A number that big can seem abstract, but you know intuitively that these 55 million people were your peers, your siblings. One of them could easily have been you.

In New York City, four out of every 10 pregnancies end in abortion, double the national average, mostly poor Black and Latino women. In some parts of New York City, the number is 6 in 10. Yet some of our elected officials in Albany are pushing a bill, believe it or not, to expand abortion access even further. It’s as though, in their minds, our state motto, “Excelsior” (“Ever Upward”) applies to the abortion rate!

Sometimes, it falls to one generation to clean up another generation’s mess. And I’m afraid we have left you quite a mess. I am asking you, the “Ultrasound Generation,” to set the course right, to change hearts and minds, to change the law so that your children’s generation is given the legal protection that your generation so tragically was not. Ultimately, I am counting on you to change our culture.

My faith in you is high. For I have seen, and I believe – in you.

“For Many” Defeats “For All.” But Some Are Not Giving Up

The new translation of the words of the consecration backed by the pope is about to arrive in Italy as well. But protests and disobedience have already been announced

by Sandro Magister

ROME, January 29, 2013 – As the Vatican “recognitio” of the new Italian version of the Roman missal is nearing its conclusion, the dispute over the translation of “pro multis” in the formula of the Eucharistic consecration has seen new developments.

The latest comes from the theologian and bishop Bruno Forte.

In an article in “Avvenire” on January 19, 2013, Forte once again sided decisively with translating “pro multis” as “per molti” (for many), instead of as “per tutti” (for all),, as has been done for more than forty years in Italy and is similarly done in many other countries.

“For many” is the translation that Benedict XVI himself is demanding be adopted in the various languages, as he explained in a letter to the German bishops in April of 2012.

For some time, in effect, the translation “for many” has been returning to use in various languages and countries, at the prodding of the Vatican authorities and the pope himself.

But resistance is also being seen.

It has been noted, for example, that in London, in Canterbury, and in other places in England various priests are intentionally modifying the “for many” of the new English version of the missal approved by the Vatican, and saying: “for many and many.”

In Italy, the new version has not yet entered into effect. But when here as well the “per molti” becomes law – as it surely will – protests and disobedience have already been announced.

(Mat 19:13-16) Then were little children presented to him, that he should impose hands upon them and pray. And the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said to them: Suffer the little children, and forbid them not to come to me: for the kingdom of heaven is for such. And when he had imposed hands upon them, he departed from thence. And behold one came and said to him: Good master, what good shall I do that I may have life everlasting?

The Three Prophecies of St. John Bosco
Don Bosco’s Prophecy of the Two Columns
The Road to Hell (Prophetic Dream of St. John Bosco 1868 A.D.)

: From a letter by Saint John Bosco, priest

I have always labored out of love First of all, if we wish to appear concerned about the true happiness of our foster children and if we would move them to fulfill their duties, you must never forget that you are taking the place of the parents of these beloved young people. I have always labored lovingly for them, and carried out my priestly duties with zeal. And the whole Salesian society has done this with me.

My sons, in my long experience very often I had to be convinced of this great truth. It is easier to become angry than to restrain oneself, and to threaten a boy than to persuade him. Yes, indeed, it is more fitting to be persistent in punishing our own impatience and pride than to correct the boys. We must be firm but kind, and be patient with them.

I give you as a model the charity of Paul which he showed to his new converts. They often reduced him to tears and entreaties when he found them lacking docility and even opposing his loving efforts.

See that no one finds you motivated by impetuosity or willfulness. It is difficult to keep calm when administering punishment, but this must be done if we are to keep ourselves from showing off our authority or spilling out our anger.

Let us regard those boys over whom we have some authority as our own sons. Let us place ourselves in their service. Let us be ashamed to assume an attitude of superiority. Let us not rule over them except for the purpose of serving them better.

This was the method that Jesus used with the apostles. He put up with their ignorance and roughness and even their infidelity. He treated sinners with a kindness and affection that caused some to be shocked, others to be scandalized, and still others to hope for God’s mercy. And so he bade us to be gentle and humble of heart.

They are our sons, and so in correcting their mistakes we must lay aside all anger and restrain it so firmly that it is extinguished entirely.

There must be no hostility in our minds, no contempt in our eyes, no insult on our lips. We must use mercy for the present and have hope for the future, as is fitting for true fathers who are eager for real correction and improvement.

In serious matters it is better to beg God humbly than to send forth a flood of words that will only offend the listeners and have no effect on those who are guilty.

Thoughts and Sayings of Saint Margaret Mary: Love of One’s Neighbor, Charity, Humility

31. If you find yourself in an abyss of pride and of vain self-esteem, plunge yourself at once into the abyss of the humility of the Sacred Heart. There you must submerge all feelings of pride that are stirred up within you, so that by love of your own abjection you may clothe yourself with His sacred annihilations.

Our Lady of Medjugorje

Our Lady beckons

January 31, 2013

Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children! Also today I call you to prayer. May your prayer be as strong as a living stone, until with your lives you become witnesses. Witness the beauty of your faith. I am with you and intercede before my Son for each of you. Thank you for having responded to my call." (January 25, 2013)

How do our lives become witnesses? One day at a time, little by little, as we live Our Lady’s messages, our lives begin to shine with the light of God. This is the way. But there is usually a beginning. A conversion. A meeting with God that takes place. Especially in Medjugorje this is true. Today and tomorrow I want to share a remarkable witness. This witness is a great example of what Our Lady wants of us:

The testimony of Roland Patsleiner. (as transcribed from "Fruit of Medjugorje, Episode 52)

Hello, my name is Roland (Patzleiner). I come from the very north of Italy, a small town. And I live here in Medjugorje now for about 10 years. I am doing the music ministry especially for the Italian pilgrims and also playing at Adoration, and helping at some services at the parish. I am very glad, also, to give this testimony, for what Our Lady, Queen of Peace, has done in my life.

When I was a teenager, I fell into drugs and alcohol. I tried to do my life as best I was able to do. I was filling my heart with all these things which were at the end, emptying my heart. One special thing….when I was a child my mother taught me to play the guitar. Since I was little I played guitar. But I wanted to just play heavy metal, hard rock, Satanic music, and I fell into drugs (as I said already) and I wasn’t aware at that time how strong on a spiritual level these things are. I was used to living life, as I knew it. As a young boy I thought that you live life to have fun, to have all the things you like, without sacrifice, just having fun. On a spiritual level I was dying always more. I was building up myself, but with a big lack of the sense of life. I was very attracted by music and this kind of life which you know is not good, but you like it. I had a stronger desire to do these bad things than to do what was good to do.

And I remember that my mother was always praying a lot for me. And that testifies to the message of Medjugorje that invites us all to pray and to have faith, and to practice the faith, especially Rosary and Mass and Confession and all that Our Lady is reminding us to do because it has the same spiritual strength as the evil one has. I wasn’t aware of it but the life I was living had very bad consequences in my life….not just losing my life on this earth, but also losing my eternal life. And so I say, that my mother (it was providential) at that time in the life of our family, met a Medjugorje prayer group in our home town, and she started to pray. The first thing she experienced in this group was the help of people who listened to her problem, and you know they helped her to carry this at the moment when she couldn’t do anything concrete for me.

So she came to Medjugorje in a pilgrimage many years ago, and I say that she felt in her heart that Our Lady told her, "You have to bring Roland to Medjugorje." I remember the time when she came back from that pilgrimage, and she said to me….You can imagine I had long hair, I was very closed and angry, I had a bad relationship with my parents. They were the people who wanted to void my happiness, telling me what I had to do and what I couldn’t do. So they were out for me. And she came back from Medjugorje and said, "Roland you have to go to Medjugorje. Our Lady is appearing there, it helps you." You can imagine my "interest" in Medjugorje…inside I had a strong a feeling, and I heard a kind of voice that said, "No, I will never go there…"

And so started a time when I kept on destroying myself with music and drugs and this evil environment. And my mother, in her suffering, kept on praying, with her group. And sometimes she would come to me and say, "Go to Medjugorje, Our Lady is appearing there." And I always got really upset and angry with her and I always said, "NO."

My mother got upset as time passed, and didn’t know anymore what to do, because she saw that day by day, I was losing more and more my life. I wasn’t able to do something good in my life. So she went to the leader of the prayer group (who was also the organizer of the pilgrimages) and she said, "You know when I went to Medjugorje that time, I felt in my heart that Our Lady had said that I had to bring him." I was already famous as a very desperate case. A lot of people were praying for me. And my mother said, "The more that I tell him to go to Medjugorje, the more angry he gets. He is getting worse, day by day. I don’t know what to do anymore."

This lady answered my mother and said, "You know I have to go to Medjugorje in a few days. Go tell him it’s for free. Maybe he will come." And so again, after many times, she came to me saying, "You have to go to Medjugorje. Our Lady is appearing." I got really angry, saying, "Let me alone, let me alone. I don’t want to hear anything about it." And she said, "No you have to go because this organizer is offering this pilgrimage for free." When I heard it was for free I said to myself, this time I can’t say no. It was a trip for free! So I said, "Ok, I will go there. And when I come back I don’t want to hear anything more about it."

And so I went to Medjugorje in 1986 for the first time. Medjugorje was different than today, but you know! But I remember I arrived in the bus full of pilgrims and you know I was wearing these clothes, and I didn’t want to talk to anyone. I just came here, and they put me in a small house where the group was divided into a few houses. I didn’t move from there, I just waited until the bus went back home. And I remember that the only interesting thing here in Medjugorje at that time was the tobacco plants. So the only interesting thing for me was trying the different tobaccos. And then when I finished the pilgrimage finally, I was really happy about that, and I went back home and continued, worse than before.

Why do I remember this thing…because I thank God that my mother and this group didn’t say anything like "Prayer and sacrifice doesn’t help. See we did a lot when he went to Medjugorje, we were so excited and hopeful that when he went to Medjugorje he would change. He would go back and leave the bad company and what he was doing." But it was not like that at that time. So I really thank God that they kept on praying….(More tomorrow)

Roland thanks God that his mother and her prayer group did not stop praying for him, even when his first trip to Medjugorje seemed to be a failure. They continued to believe. They did not reject him. They prayed. This is important for all of us who are praying for "lost causes". No cause is lost in God’s eyes. And by our patience and perseverance, we can ensure the salvation of those we love.

More tomorrow!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!
