Mark, who oversees multiple campaigns in the region recently announced that El Paso’s Planned Parenthood no longer has an active abortion license. “This means they are not able to perform any abortion…even chemical abortions under six weeks, which are still currently allowed by the Heartbeat Law.
Planned Parenthood in El Paso isn’t closed–yet. It can still refer women for abortions at other facilities. “But the fact is that God has now stopped abortions at 4 locations in 4 years!” Mark said. With just one active abortion facility in the region, the El Paso area is closer than ever to the end of abortion!
Mount Juliet, Tennessee Mount Juliet 40 Days for Life leader Kathy recruited local clergy to join her vigil. “We began at 6 am in the dark and rain,” Kathy reported. “But local ministers signed up…and the rain did not deter them.” A local Baptist pastor closed the day by bringing members of his church to the vigil for prayer and music.
Phoenix, Arizona During this spring’s vigil, football players and coaches from a nearby Catholic high school joined the vigil from 6 – 7 am twice a week. Two of those players are now studying for the Catholic priesthood. Those students along with other Phoenix seminarians join the vigil each Friday afternoon. Phoenix co-leader Ellen buys the young men 40 Days for Life T-shirts to don at the vigil. “I consider it missionary work!” she said.

Little children, do not worry about earthly things, but long for Heaven. Heaven will be your goal and joy will begin to reign in your heart. I am with you and bless all of you with my motherly blessing. Thank you for having responded to my call.” (September 25, 2021)
In her September 25, 2021 Message Our Lady spoke to us about eternity. She reminded us: “Be aware, little children, that life is short, and eternity is waiting for you to give glory to God with your being, with all the saints.” When we ponder eternity, we begin to understand how very short our years on earth are. Eternity cannot be comprehended. But we can at least tell ourselves that eternity is time that never has an end. Hours end. Days end. Years end. Eons end. But eternity will never end. Never. And if we believe in eternity, if we believe in Heaven and Hell, then it becomes very important that we spend that eternity in the right place. Only life with God in Heaven can be imagined. The question then becomes, “How do I live so as to find myself in Heaven for eternity?” Our Lady has told us already: “Pray, witness and rejoice with me because the Most High continues to send me to lead you on the way of holiness.” God has sent Our Lady to lead us into holiness, which is the only way to arrive in Heaven for eternity. Holiness is our way, Heaven our goal. I want to share with you one of the most comforting Scripture passages I know, that deals with our future in eternity. It is long, but so worth the read!! It is from the Letter of St. Paul to the Romans:
Romans 8 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do: sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the just requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, indeed it cannot; and those who are in the flesh cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh, you are in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Any one who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. But if Christ is in you, although your bodies are dead because of sin, your spirits are alive because of righteousness. If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also through his Spirit which dwells in you. So then, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh — for if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body you will live. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the spirit of sonship. When we cry, “Abba! Father!” it is the Spirit himself bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him. I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God; for the creation was subjected to futility, not of its own will but by the will of him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and obtain the glorious liberty of the children of God. We know that the whole creation has been groaning in travail together until now; and not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience. Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with sighs too deep for words. And he who searches the hearts of men knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. We know that in everything God works for good with those who love him, who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the first-born among many brethren. And those whom he predestined he also called; and those whom he called he also justified; and those whom he justified he also glorified. What then shall we say to this? If God is for us, who is against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, will he not also give us all things with him? Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? As it is written, “For thy sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Dearest Mother, lead us on the way of holiness so that one day we will find ourselves in the love of God in Christ Jesus for eternity!

As many in the US advocate to deny healthcare to a baby girl who survives an abortion, Catholics, Protestants, Evangelicals, and Orthodox Christians unify to end abortion. It’s also true at the global level that the vigil has united pro-lifers in countries around the world. Christians in Seoul are holding South Korea’s first-ever campaign. It’s off to a strong start. “On the first day, 75 volunteers participated,” said Joonil, who helps lead the campaign. “We never expected this large number of people.”
The Seoul team is bound by pandemic restrictions that prevent public gatherings…but they’ve gotten creative to keep their vigil law-abiding. “One volunteer prays in front of [our big sign],” Joonil reported. “The others pray, keeping their distance, standing or walking around the place focusing prayer for an end to abortion.” Vigil participants display a picture of an unborn baby, and enthusiasm is high. “Some volunteers thanked us for inviting this great campaign,” Joonil shared.
Stockport, England Joonil isn’t the only campaign leader to see greater-than-expected turnout early in the vigil. Steve in Stockport said finding vigil participants is difficult. Some people even deliberately avoid him to dodge his recruitment efforts! But Steve isn’t deterred. He continues building his campaign–one prospective participant at a time. 50 people attended his launch event last week. “All in all, a great job!” commented 40 Days for Life Director of International Campaigns Robert Colquhoun.
Ann Arbor, Michigan The Ann Arbor campaign hosted a Jericho March, joined by more than 125 people of all ages. “It was such a blessing to be led by Lutheran and Presbyterian pastors and Catholic clergy!” said Ann Arbor leader Sandie. “The pro-life movement brings us all together in such a powerful way.”

BENEATH ALL THE TALK ABOUT “CHOICE” By Julie Grimstad The problem of suffering has confronted mankind ever since Adam and Eve lost paradise. Suffering – physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual – is an inescapable element of human life. Fortunately, modern medicine is able to relieve physical pain, or at least reduce it to a tolerable level in nearly all cases. People hurt physically less now than ever before.
Ironically, just as we are making real progress in pain management, as well as in addressing the needs of the total person, “death control” is being proposed and, in fact, practiced as a solution to the problem of suffering. Numerous organizations exist with the primary aim to make it legal for someone who is suffering to request and receive assisted suicide or euthanasia. Proponents of euthanasia and assisted suicide claim that death is fundamentally a matter of choice. Those who oppose “choice in dying” are unjustly accused of wanting to force people to suffer unbearably. Is this true? NO!
The mental anguish, loss of control, social isolation, economic hardship, and other sufferings that often accompany serious illness and debility are more likely to undermine a patient’s will to live than is physical pain. Our culture glorifies health and self-sufficiency. It treats suffering as a thing without value, which must be eliminated at all costs. This climate makes it difficult for people with incurable conditions not to despair. Beneath all the talk about “choice” is the (usually unspoken) view that those who are very ill, old, or disabled should be put out of their (and our) misery. This attitude may be a loaded gun pressed into the hand of a person, who, at a time of great vulnerability, feels that he would be better off dead and his loved ones would be better off without him.
It is not easy to resist the popular mindset that some people are better off dead. Often, however, selfishness is what makes this idea appealing. True compassion means sharing another’s pain; it does not kill the person whose suffering we cannot bear or whose needs we don’t want to concern ourselves about. Genuine concern requires that we saturate with love and tender care those who are suffering, assuring them that their lives are precious to us, and they are worthy of our attention and protection.
Those of us who are sick or old must in turn be willing to humbly accept the care we need – medical care, of course, but also the personal care that our families, friends, and communities offer us. Our human task, whether healthy or sick, is to cherish each other.
Both giving and receiving care demonstrate genuine respect for human dignity and the sanctity of life. Dallas, Texas Annette in Dallas reported a baby spared from abortion the first hour of the vigil! “A young woman and her grandmother stopped to talk to one of the sidewalk counselors in front of Planned Parenthood in South Dallas,” Annette said. “After a few minutes of conversation, all three agreed that she should keep her baby!” By the end of a six-hour shift on the sidewalk, that same sidewalk counselor saved another baby by sharing resources available to help the family with two born children. “She knew in her heart that she didn’t want to abort her baby,” Annette continued. “She just felt alone and desperate.”
Syracuse, New York Prayer warriors in New York face a dramatically different legislative environment compared with Texas… …but their enthusiasm is not diminished. “Our opening prayer service was beautiful,” wrote Jeanie, the longtime leader in Syracuse. “These incredible faith-filled warriors are some of the kindest people you’ll ever meet.” Jeanie said two pastors led participants in prayer…plus, a priest who was ordained 71 years ago closed the event by praying from his car. “We are expecting miracles,” Jeanie said. “Come, Holy Spirit!”

Our Lady makes it very clear that it is God who has sent her to be with us in these days in Medjugorje. These 40 years of Our Lady’s presence have been a gift to us from the Heart of the Father, a free gift of grace to us! This plan came from the Love of the Trinity. It was God’s initiative to send our Mother to us. God has sent Our Lady to earth several times throughout history. These visits from Our Mother always come at a time when we need her most. But I can’t think of a time when we have needed her more than today. After centuries of struggle, it would seem that the world has wrenched itself out of God’s hands. So much sin and rejection of God! And so, Our Lady has come to us in Medjugorje to accompany us through these years, teaching us, keeping our minds and hearts on God, showing us the way of faith and love, and giving us courage.
