If news of a baby on the way leads a woman to contemplate abortion, you might think news of TWO babies on the way would send her speeding toward Planned Parenthood.But the presence of twins reminds many abortion-vulnerable moms that they aren’t carrying “pregnancy tissue” or a “clump of cells.” They’re bearing precious human beings. A woman left the Raleigh, North Carolina, abortion facility announcing to 40 Days for Life volunteers that she decided NOT to abort. “And I have twins!” she exclaimed, as the sidewalk erupted into cheers, tears, and praise to God. “Every cold, rainy, hot, humid, long, emotionally draining morning or afternoon praying is worth it to be able to witness that complete saving power of the Holy Spirit,” wrote Karen, the Raleigh campaign leader.
Karen and her team are having a tremendous campaign this Lent. Not only do they know of at least five babies saved from abortion, but they’ve also seen the local abortion center unexpectedly closed throughout the vigil. “When I [arrived] early Saturday morning, I noticed there were no abortion escorts,” Karen reflected. “I thought to myself excitedly, ‘Could it be [closed] again this Saturday?'” It was closed. Karen suspects that the presence of pro-lifers on Saturdays has been so impactful that the abortion business is shifting appointments to weekdays. It doesn’t seem to be working. One recent Friday, prayer warriors observed the occupants of four vehicles arrive at the abortion facility–and leave without receiving services.
Mount Vernon, Washington The Mount Vernon team received some delayed good news when they learned that their prayers saved a pair of twins during last fall’s 40 Days for Life campaign. “Rosalva shared with us that during the fall vigil, she was able to offer help to a mother of twins,” reported Tracey, the local leader. “Rosalva walked the expectant mother to the pro-life center nearby, [which] helped this mother with her many concerns. She and her husband were able to keep the babies.” The twins were born in January, and the family invited Rosalva to meet them…and to be their “local grandma.” “Rosalva is experiencing a great blessing–as is the mother of the babies,” Tracey said.
Stockton, California Richard in Stockton also reported that a mom his team helped during the fall 2022 40 Days for Life vigil recently welcomed her baby into the world. “Her boyfriend wanted her to have an abortion,” Richard said. “She chose life.” She’s now the proud mother of a baby who weighed in at 8 pounds, 11 ounces and is now two weeks old! Richard said the Stockton team was blessed by a group of students who joined the vigil–and are already looking forward to returning to pray.

Our Lady’s words are spot on for us as we enter into Holy Week! Nothing is more necessary and appropriate in this next week than prayer. How else can we accompany Jesus through this difficult week of suffering. But like Veronica, we can wipe His face and compassionate with Him through our prayer. I think Jesus is truly hoping we will pray with Him all week. And it seems Our Lady knew it, and that is why she told us that this time should be a time of prayer for us… Here is one prayer that we could pray each day to prepare for Good Friday. In it we pray with Our Lady at the foot of the Cross.
At The Cross Her Station Keeping At the cross her station keeping, Stood the mournful Mother weeping, Close to Jesus to the last. Through her heart, his sorrow sharing, All his bitter anguish bearing, Now at length the sword has passed. Oh, how sad and sore distressed Was that Mother highly blest Of the sole begotten One! Christ above in torment hangs; She beneath beholds the pangs Of her dying, glorious Son. Is there one who would not weep, ‘Whelmed in miseries so deep, Christ’s dear Mother to behold? CVS and Walgreens recently agreed to pay more than $10 billion to settle lawsuits alleging that they contributed to the opioid epidemic by recklessly distributing prescription painkillers. Bel Air, Maryland A young man parked near the 40 Days for Life vigil in front of Bel Air’s Walgreens and shouted, “What’s wrong with abortion?” “He seemed like a heckler,” said Joyce, who leads the campaign. “But it turns out that he and his girlfriend are in high school, and she is pregnant.” The couple was told that their baby is “only a clump of cells.” But after talking with vigil participants, the young man decided to take his girlfriend for an ultrasound. “He was grateful that we were out on the sidewalk for him and told us to keep it up,” Joyce said.
Kalispell, Montana Kalispell, Montana, has hosted many 40 Days for Life campaigns over the years and even closed an abortion facility… …but this spring’s vigil is the city’s first to be held in front of Walgreens. 40 Days for Life general counsel Matt Britton recently visited the campaign and addressed volunteers. “Bill [the leader] is doing a great job,” Matt said. “He is able to talk to many people, and only about 10 percent refuse literature. Many are surprised that Walgreens would be dispensing abortion pills.“
Catonsville, Maryland The Catonsville 40 Days for Life vigil isn’t technically in front of the local CVS pharmacy. But the abortion facility where Kim and her team pray is across the street from CVS, which means her vigil is doing double duty!

March 30, 2023 Dear Family of Mary!
“Dear children! May this time be a time of prayer for you.” (March 25, 2023)
On Sunday morning, March 26, Denis and I went to the village grave yard in Medjugorje. We go there every time we come to Medjugorje, to visit Fr. Slavko’s grave. It is important to pay our respects to Fr. Slavko Barbaric. He was a true pastor to us pilgrims, always making sure that we were taken care of pastorally. He started many initiatives in Medjugorje, that enhanced our spiritual lives, showing us how to fast, to pray, to receive the sacraments, to understand the apparitions, and to love God. And we have missed his pastoral presence since his early death in 2000. As we were praying there, I began to hear Fr. Slavko speaking to me interiorly. This has happened before. I rarely talked to him while he was on earth. But he has been kind to me in giving me some words of encouragement ever since. These communications are purely interior, and only for my benefit. But they have helped me so much. What I heard, I will share with you. Fr. Slavko said that soon Denis and I would join him in heaven (we are in our 70’s). And that we would be able to join him in praying for Our Lady’s plans for Medjugorje from there. That was all. He wanted me to know that our work for Medjugorje will not end when we die. Actually it will continue! Because Heaven is not disconnected from earth, it is intimately connected, through our prayer! We are together, the children of God. This made me feel so peaceful and happy! To know that our lives here on earth are not divorced from our lives in heaven. We are transformed in heaven, but we are still ourselves! And we can help Our Lady from there as well!! I just share that because it gave me peace, to continue in this life with such hope for the future. Remember, Our Lady told us once,
March 25, 2021 “Dear children! Also, today I am with you to tell you: Little children, he who prays does not fear the future and does not lose hope. You are chosen to carry joy and peace, because you are mine. I have come here with the name ‘Queen of Peace’ because the devil wants peacelessness and war, he wants to fill your heart with fear of the future – but the future is God’s. That is why, be humble and pray, and surrender everything into the hands of the Most High Who created you. Thank you for having responded to my call.”
The Future is God’s!!!!!! Fr. Slavko knows this so well! Let’s live as we should, as children of God who are destined to live with Him in Heaven for Eternity. We have everything to live for!!! The Future is God’s!!!!!

March 29, 2023 Wednesday of the Fifth Week in Lent “Everything passes. Only your work for souls remains.” In the first reading today, we heard about the three valiant men who refused to fall into the sin of idolatry in other time. The Jews were in exile, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were in exile in the province of Babylon under power of King Nebuchadnezzar, relatively, currently Iraq. This king demanded all of his inhabitants, all the citizens from the most powerful to the peasant, to fall down and worship the statue he had made of himself. Those who refused when the signal was sent to bow down and worship the golden statue would be cast into a white-hot furnace. Word arrived to the king that the three Jews refused and they questioned him. Is this true that you will not serve my god or worship the golden statue that I set up. Many women who take the abortion pill soon realize they made a big mistake…and they would do anything to save their babies.Fortunately, many of them can. The expectant mother doesn’t have her own transportation, so 40 Days for Life volunteers are taking her to all of her doctor’s appointments.”She just entered her second trimester,” Felisha said. “She is doing great. Our community has stepped up to surround her with love and convinced her to make a baby registry. Philadelphia, PennsylvaniaThe campaign team in Philly is also walking with a mother who chose to reverse her abortion. “Our lovely young APR mom is doing great!” wrote Monique, the local campaign leader. “She is holding fast to faith in Jesus! The little one had an ultrasound and had a beautiful, strong heartbeat.“40 Days for Life participants have offered to help babysit the woman’s children, and they’re encouraged by her resilience!”I’m blown away by how she responds to situations where others might have not been able to keep their cool,” Monique said. “So blessed to know her.”
Yuba City, CaliforniaGod used the Yuba City vigil to save a baby through APR during the 2022 Lent campaign. The abortion-minded woman chose life and gave birth to a baby boy last fall. The child’s parents just got married–and one of the campaign team members was in attendance to serve as an official witness on the marriage certificate!
Jesus said to Simon, “Put out into deep water and lower your nets for a catch.” Simon said in reply, “Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing, but at your command I will lower the nets.”–Luke 5:4-5 Father and Creator of human life, help us never to become discouraged in defending the full breadth of that most precious gift. Being pro-life in New York is not easy, and it’s not getting any easier.
This year, during the annual International Gift of Life Walk (organized by the Personhood Alliance’s NY affiliate) pro-lifers were the target of harassment and abuse by ANTIFA radicals. In the video below you can watch as several pro-lifers are cornered on a sidewalk and verbally and physically abused.
Pro-abortion activists also attempted to block the path of the pro-lifers by piling garbage in the middle of the road.
However, ANTIFA didn’t know who they were up against, because the members of Personhood in New York are truly fearless.
They are not afraid because their strength comes from the Lord, and they will not be intimidated. Dawn’s favorite picture of the Walk was this fantastic picture taken by photographer Jeffrey Bruno. It is a picture of the pro-life group marching down the Canyon of Heroes, which is the path taken by the historic ticker tape parades that celebrated some of the greatest achievements of mankind.

11 The Lord knoweth the thoughts of men, that they are vain.
12 Blessed is the man whom thou shalt instruct, O Lord: and shalt teach him out of thy law.
13 That thou mayst give him rest from the evil days: till a pit be dug for the wicked.
14 For the Lord will not cast off his people: neither will he forsake his own inheritance.
15 Until justice be turned into judgment: and they that are near it are all the upright in heart.
16 Who shall rise up for me against the evildoers? or who shall stand with me against the workers of iniquity?
17 Unless the Lord had been my helper, my soul had almost dwelt in hell.
18 If I said: My foot is moved: thy mercy, O Lord, assisted me.
19 According to the multitude of my sorrows in my heart, thy comforts have given joy to my soul.
20 Doth the seat of iniquity stick to thee, who framest labour in commandment?
21 They will hunt after the soul of the just, and will condemn innocent blood.
22 But the Lord is my refuge: and my God the help of my hope.
23 And he will render them their iniquity: and in their malice he will destroy them: the Lord our God will destroy them.
