Unborn babies are “parasites,” and humanity is a “planetary cancer.”

Those are the words of the notorious 81-year-old abortionist in Boulder, Colorado.

Praying at the Boulder 40 Days for Life campaign makes a huge impact on this well-known late-term abortion facility. Recently, students at the University of Colorado (who this facility targets) joined the local campaign leader at the vigil.

“I gave them buttons and wristbands,” Susan said. “They gave me encouragement!”

It sounds like these students would be great candidates for the 4040 Scholarship!

image

The scholarship awards $4,040 to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student active in the pro-life movement. The winner and a parent will be flown to San Francisco to receive the scholarship on the stage at the West Coast Walk for Life in front of 70,000 pro-lifers!

College students in Granite City are also showing up to pray in front of a late-term abortion facility.

Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Newman Center students hit their knees in front of the inaccurately named “Hope Clinic for Women.”

St. Louis, Missouri

Just across the Mississippi River, pro-life students joined the St. Louis vigil.

Las Cruces, New Mexico

The Las Cruces abortion facility closed years ago following a 40 Days for Life campaign…

…so local pro-lifers are organizing a vigil near the local college campus to pray for and reach out to university students considering leaving town for an abortion.

“A student approached two of our volunteers and thanked them for being there to represent life on NMSU campus,” wrote Ann, the local leader. “He told them how his two siblings were saved from abortion by his mother agreeing to adopt them!

Dear Family of Mary!

“Dear children, the will and the love of the Heavenly Father make it so that I am among you, that I, with a motherly love, may help the growth of faith in your heart, for you to be able to truly comprehend the purpose of earthly life and the greatness of the heavenly one. My children, the earthly life is the way to eternity, to truth, and to life – to my Son. I desire to lead you on that way…”(October 2, 2019)

Yesterday’s homily was so precious I could not hold back from sharing it today in written form!  (Thanks to Stephanie for transcribing it so quickly and so well!!)

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke. (Luke 13:22-30)

Jesus passed through towns and villages teaching as he went and making his way to Jerusalem. Someone asked him, Lord, will only a few people be saved?
He answered them, Strive to enter through the narrow gate. For many, I tell you, will attempt to enter, but will not be strong enough.

After the master of the house has arisen and locked the door, then will you stand outside knocking and saying, Lord open the door for us. He will say to you in reply, I do not know where you are from. And you will say, we ate and drank in your company, and you taught in our streets. Then he will say to you, I do not know where you are from. Depart from me all you evil-doers.

And there will be wailing and grinding of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and all the prophets in the Kingdom of God, and you, yourselves cast out.
And people will come from the east and from the west and from the north and the south and will recline at table in the Kingdom of God.

For behold, some are last, who will be first. And some are first, who will be last.
The gospel of the Lord.

The question is put to Jesus: Will only a few people be saved? And I think, we hear that question and we’d like Jesus to give a clear answer. Give us percentages. So that we might know what our chances are. If he says, well, 90% will be saved; we’ll say, oh well, I have a reasonably good chance. If he says, 10% will be saved; we’re thinking- oh, I need to up my game here.

But Jesus doesn’t give facts and figures and percentages. He gives no direct answer. But he does give some clear advice: Strive to enter through the narrow gate.

Elsewhere in the gospels, Jesus speaks of the narrow path or the narrow road. And this idea of the narrow gate, or the narrow road, in the other gospels, it goes against a trend with many in the church these days who seem to think that the only thing one has to do to enter heaven is to die – and maybe not be Hitler or Stalin. The only qualification for heaven in the minds of many is, I take my final breath. And that is not the case.

Salvation is not something automatic. It is indeed a free gift given to us by our savior. It is his desire. But it is a gift that we have to reach out and take hold of. St. Augustine said something like: God made you without your cooperation, but he will not save you without your cooperation.

During the summer I was on retreat, and one night I had a very strange dream. And in the dream, I dreamt that I was a technician for NASA. I wasn’t the astronaut. As you can see, I wouldn’t really be qualified to be the astronaut. So in my dream, I was one of the technicians. And I was in the space shuttle.

There were several astronauts there. And the main engineer was coming in with his checklist, his manifesto, making sure we were ready for take-off. And in the dream, he’s looking around the inside of the space shuttle, and he realizes that the astronauts have brought bags of stuff with them… The food they like from home. Things that remind them of home. Some little comforts here and there. Bags of stuff… Over in one corner of the shuttle.

And the engineer looks at his page and he looks at all of this stuff, and he says, “What is this doing here?” And the astronauts said to him, “Well, we just, we want to take some stuff with us.” He said, “You don’t, you can’t take these things with you. Don’t you realize that I have measured everything perfectly. Every weight of this space shuttle is measured. And all of this stuff is going to put my measurements way off track. So, if we launch with all of this stuff – at best, we’re not going to land where we intend. At worst, we’re going to crash land. We need to get rid of this stuff.”

So he instructs me. And he and I start taking these bags of things, open the shuttle door, and throw them out. And the astronauts are protesting. They’re very, very annoyed. And he keeps saying to them, “But you can’t fly with this. You cannot take off with this.”

And then I woke up. And I thought, what a strange dream. And because I was on retreat, before breakfast, off I went to do my holy hour. And in the holy hour, I’m thinking, I’m dreaming about being an astronaut? Well, not quite an astronaut. But, for NASA, what was that? And as clear as day the thought came to me: Meticulous planning of the minutest detail is needed to get to the moon. But, how few there are, who have any plan whatsoever for the journey to heaven. We know that we have to plan for so many other things. And yet, we can be sometimes very haphazard about our ultimate destination.

And I think that seeing so many have, it seems, little or no plan, Our Lady has come to give Her plan, Her project. They’re often called, Our Lady’s Five Stones, or her Five-Point Plan: (1) Praying the Rosary with the heart, (2) Holy Mass, (3) The Bible, reading scripture daily, (4) Monthly Confession, and (5) Fasting.

These five points will keep us on track. Prayer will keep our hearts’ desires fixed on that narrow gate. The Holy Mass will keep our souls, as it were, loitering at that narrow gate. Because at every Mass, whether you know it or not, you dip your toe into eternity. We are in heaven right now. The daily scripture will help our eyes focus on that gate. Fasting will stir up a hunger, a longing to enter that gate. And Confession will help keep us humble and small enough to eventually be able to enter that gate. That’s Our Mother’s plan, and it’s a good one.

Will only a few be saved Lord? We are not given the answer to that question in numbers and percentages. But the answer to that question becomes utterly irrelevant to me if I, myself am not one of those who are saved. If I’m not saved, it will not matter whether 99% are saved; or whether 9% are saved. It won’t matter. I’m not saved.

So what’s our plan? Meticulous planning of the minutest detail is needed to get to the moon. How few there are who have any plan at all for the journey to heaven. Our Lady has a plan. It’s a good one. Let’s start following it.

And then, we will be ready whenever the final call comes. Whether it be today. Whether it be in 10, 20 years’ time from now. Whenever we are called to that narrow gate. We’ll be ready. We’ll have no excess baggage. And we’ll joyfully enter into the salvation Christ Jesus won for us. It is important for us to get ahead in life. But it is more important that we enter eternal life with God forever. Let us always, daily, fix our attention on that. And we’ll not go too far astray.   (English Mass Homily, October 30, 2019, Fr. Phillip Kemmy)

I just visited the 40 Days for Life vigil outside the largest abortion facility in the Western Hemisphere–the 78,000 square foot facility in Houston.

These mega abortion centers are a recent trend for the abortion industry.

Built in secret, Planned Parenthood’s latest mega abortion facility opened last week in Southern Illinois.

Though daunting for pro-lifers, these facilities reveal cracks in Planned Parenthood’s abortion empire.

On this week’s episode of The 40 Days for Life Podcast, we discuss how many of Planned Parenthood’s mega centers exist because the abortion giant–no longer welcome in local neighborhoods–is being forced to consolidate.

You’ll learn:

  • What abortion mega centers reveal about a crumbling abortion industry
  • Why massive Planned Parenthood buildings can be uniquely vulnerable to peaceful pro-life prayer and activism–in spite of their fortress-like appearance
  • How to respond if a mega facility opens in your community

Tune in and learn how Planned Parenthood’s latest strategy can backfire–and actually hasten the end of abortion!

image

Lives are being saved and communities transformed–even in front of the most imposing abortion facilities.

image

Denver, Colorado

“This Planned Parenthood is like a fortress, so it’s rare to have one-on-one interactions with the people coming and going,” said Lee Ann in Denver.

But prayers are still being answered.

Recently, a woman stopped in front of the vigil site, rolled down her window, and told volunteers, “Because of you, I have my daughter.”

She then rolled down the vehicle’s back window, revealing a blonde girl with braces, a big smile, and a friendly wave!

image

Aurora, Illinois

Construction in the area has repeatedly forced the Aurora team to move its vigil site to avoid dust, dirt and noise. But the prayer warriors aren’t complaining.

That’s because, when the work is done, one of America’s largest abortion facilities will have a new neighbor: a pro-life pregnancy help center.

“Wednesday is typically a busy day with lots of surgical appointments,” said Catherine, who co-leads the campaign. “But it was extremely slow. Hoping our prayers are being answered!”

image

St. Paul, Minnesota

40 Days for Life Director of Medical Affairs & Education Dr. Haywood Robinson visited a campaign midpoint rally…IN THE SNOW!

The vigil participants’ endurance in the cold paid dividends when a mom and daughter headed for Planned Parenthood stopped to talk with a sidewalk counselor.

Upon learning that the local pregnancy center provided free ultrasounds, they skipped their appointment at the 46,000 square foot Planned Parenthood facility!

God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him, male and female He created them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.”

Genesis 1:27-28

Father of mercy and grace, we thank you for the gift of our children. Grant that every fiber of our being may rejoice when a new baby, our own or any else’s, is born into the world. Help us to welcome them as we would welcome you, for whenever a new baby is conceived, another life to bear your image and another voice to praise and worship you, is beginning.

Your sacrifices will have meaning.

October 30, 2019

Dear Family of Mary!

“…. Little children, in complete surrender to God, He will take care of everything and will bless you; and your sacrifices will have meaning…” (October 25, 2019)

I am so drawn to these words from Our Lady. She assures us that God can and will take care of every detail in our lives, under one condition. We must surrender to Him in everything. Completely. We have all tried at some point to trust someone in our lives, a mother or father, a teacher or a friend, even a spouse. We long to have someone who is totally trustworthy, and in whom we can entrust ourselves. But this kind of trust is not possible with our fellow humans. Why? Because not one of us is all knowing, all loving and all powerful. Not one of us is capable of covering all the bases. Such surrender and trust are not justified or even healthy.

And so, we have learned not to surrender to anyone. And this makes it hard for us to even imagine surrendering to God. And on top of that, all the saints who have surrendered completely to God still suffered. And that seems to contradict God’s ability to manage everything!

But, of course, we know that God has such an infinitely higher perspective than we do, and that He sees suffering and self-denial in a vastly different way. He saw the sacrifice of Jesus and Mary in a way we could not imagine. It was salvation for the whole world that was being won by their sacrifices. And he sees our suffering as part of that work of salvation as well. If we give it over to Him, it becomes so valuable!!! He entrusts us with that suffering because He loves us and trusts us to carry it for Him.  And He also sustains us and heals us with His powerful love, time and time again!

Well, St. Faustina wrote about this mystery of love in a beautiful way. On New Year’s Day 1938, she prayed:

Welcome to you, New Year, in the course of which my perfection will be accomplished. Thank You in advance, O Lord, for everything Your goodness will send me. Thank You for the cup of suffering from which I shall daily drink. Do not diminish its bitterness, O Lord, but strengthen my lips that, while drinking of this bitterness, they may know how to smile for love of You, my Master. I thank You for Your countless comforts and graces that flow down upon me each day like the morning dew, silently, imperceptibly, which no curious eye may notice, and which are known only to You and me, O Lord. For all this, I thank You as of today because, at the moment when You hand me the cup, my heart may not be capable of giving thanks.

So today I submit myself completely and with loving consent to Your holy will, O Lord, and to Your most wise decrees, which are always full of clemency and mercy for me, though at times I can (62) neither understand nor fathom them. O my Master, I surrender myself completely to You, who are the rudder of my soul; steer it Yourself according to Your divine wishes. I enclose myself in Your most compassionate Heart, which is a sea of unfathomable mercy. (Diary 1499-50)

Our Lady wants us to imitate St. Faustina, and in our surrender begin to see the meaning of our sacrifices. She wants us to have the lofty and eternal perspective that St. Faustina developed, the perspective that the Father has for all of us, seeing us as co-workers in the fight for souls. She also wants us to trust that the Father will not leave us alone, but instead sustain us and care for us always.

Oh, Jesus, be the rudder of our souls!

Persecution: it’s the greatest compliment abortion supporters can pay you.

From heckling to stolen vigil signs to a full-blown, pro-abortion protest, attempts to silence you prove that your prayers are impacting the abortion industry’s bottom line.

The abortion facility in Little Rock, Arkansas sold rocks to abortion supporters, who painted anti-40 Days for Life messages on them. The rocks were then placed around the abortion facility property.

One not-so-charming message read, “May the fetus you save become a gay abortion provider.”

image

Fortunately, stunts like this only increase the controversy over abortion, discouraging abortion-vulnerable women from coming.

Sometimes the pro-abortion antics outright backfire.

That was the case in Sarasota, Florida, where the abortion facility played a vulgar radio station over a boombox to discourage vigil participation.

One day, the abortion workers mistakenly used the wrong setting on the radio dial–and were stunned when they came out later and found the vigil participants singing along to the Christian praise and worship radio station!

image
image

Passau, Germany

Andreas in Passau spends six hours a day praying at his 40 Days for Life vigil.

And he has company.

Every day, Antifa activists surround him with signs, banners, and umbrellas to make sure abortion-bound women aren’t exposed to his prayers.

The pro-abortion circus draws more attention to his outreach than if he were left to pray in silence.

image

Manhattan, New York

Abortion supporters used white umbrellas to block out pro-life signs…

…but the sign of more than 150 pro-lifers–many of them on their knees–could not be silenced.

image

Cherry Hill, New Jersey

A Cherry Hill abortion supporter spent more than two hours insulting Bob and Janis while they prayed in front of the abortion facility.

Perhaps the verbal attack was prompted by the vigil’s success? The campaign has helped save at least SEVEN babies from abortion this fall.

Later that day, a man left the facility, stopping to say, “Praise God, it didn’t go through,” suggesting that a life had been saved.

image

Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sin is covered. Blessed is the one to whom the Lord shall not impute sin.

— Romans 4:7-8

Our Most Gracious Heavenly Father, thank you for your amazing grace that saved a wretch like me. I come against the enemy of my soul who would have me feel cast down and dejected. Lord, keep your children from falling prey to the accusations of the father of lies. Turn our mourning into dancing and may we bring praise to you as we give testimony of Your healing and restoration in our lives.

May Prayer be a balm to your soul…

October 29, 2019

Dear Family of Mary!

“Little children, in complete surrender to God, He will take care of everything and will bless you; and your sacrifices will have meaning…”

(October 25, 2019)

Our Lady understands complete surrender to God. She lived her entire life in deep surrender and trust on the Heavenly Father. Each mystery of the Rosary shows us her surrender. But we have a difficult time of surrendering to the Lord. We find it hard to let go of our fears and worries. And so the Lord sent us a teacher, Fr. Dolindo Ruotolo. Here is a brief description of his life:

“On November 19, 1970 Don (Fr) Dolindo Ruotolo died at the age of 88. Padre Pio once said of this priest from Naples, Italy, “The whole of paradise is in your soul.” His name “Dolindo” means “Pain” and his life was rich with this pain. As a child, a teenager, a seminarian and a priest, he experienced humiliation, which was the realization of the prophetic words of a bishop who said “You will be a martyr, but in your heart, not with your blood.”

In his profound humility, he was able to hear the words of God. Even with his hidden life he was one of the greatest prophets of the last century. He wrote to Bishop Hnilica in 1965 that a new John will rise out of Poland with heroic steps to break the chains beyond the boundaries imposed by the communist tyranny. On this postcard, he wrote words of consolation for Poland and all the countries suffering under the communist regime. This prophecy was realized in the papacy of John Paul II.

In his tremendous suffering, Dolindo became more and more a child who lived his self-offering to the Divine Father. “I am totally poor, a poor nothing. My strength is my prayer, my leader is the will of God which I let take me by the hand. My security over the uneven path is the heavenly Mother Mary.” One of the treasures from the words which Jesus spoke to Dolindo was the teaching about total abandonment to God. In this novena, Jesus is talking to Don Dolindo and also to you.”

The way of total abandonment is given to us in the “Novena of Surrender to the Will of God” that Jesus gave to Fr. Dolindo. We pray this novena every day during the Daily Rosary on Mary TV. The words of this novena help us to refocus and abandon ourselves to God. Such abandonment and surrender makes us able to serve the Lord in our day. We become available to Him. This is very important.

Here is a PDF of the Novena to the Will of God by Fr. Dolindo. It is a great gift to us all!!
