When we conducted the first 40 Days for Life campaign in College Station, Texas, back in 2004, if you had told me that 40 Days for Life would spread around the globe … I wouldn't have believed it.
We thought there would be ONE — and only one – 40 Days for Life campaign. EVER.
Thankfully, God's plans were bigger than ours … and 40 Days for Life has now been conducted in hundreds of cities and towns across all 50 American states — and thirteen other countries.
One of those countries where 40 Days for Life is making a profound impact is England. This spring, there will be four local campaigns conducted across Great Britain.
A few days ago, they flew 40 Days for Life national director David Bereit and me "across the pond" to help kick off campaigns in London, Birmingham and Manchester.
We were amazed to see how God has inspired thousands of people across the UK to pray and fast, stand in peaceful vigil and participate in community outreach …
… and now YOU can see the big picture by watching this brand-new 15-minute video of how 40 Days for Life is positively impacting England:

As I said … this is BIG. And you can be a part.
40 Days for Life is God's work — but in order to make this happen, He needs YOU!
We start tomorrow. Will you be there?

Let's get to work saving lives!
During these next 40 days, you will receive daily devotionals and scriptures along with amazing reports of blessings straight from the frontlines. To get you started, today's devotional is from Carmen Pate, a member of the 40 Days for Life board of directors.
—————————————————– PRE-KICKOFF INTENTION —————————————————–
For God’s blessing upon the coming 40 Days for Life campaign.
—————————————————– SCRIPTURE —————————————————–
"If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land."
— 2 Chronicles 7:14
—————————————————– REFLECTION by Carmen Pate, 40 Days for Life —————————————————–
Not unlike God's chosen people of Israel, we must humble ourselves, pray, seek His face, and turn from our wicked ways, if we expect God to hear from heaven, forgive our sin, and heal our land. The need for repentance has not been greater since the Supreme Court decision of Roe vs. Wade in 1973.
The number one cause of death in America is the needless sacrifice of our children at the altar of convenience called abortion. Conservative estimates put the number of deaths at nearly 52 million.
And lest we think this is an issue outside the church walls, 43 percent of women obtaining abortions identify themselves as Protestant, and 27 percent identify themselves as Catholic. One in four women has at least one abortion by the age of 45 — both non-Christian and Christian alike. Where was the voice of Truth — the church?
Mary Comm of In Our Midst Ministries, Inc. sums up the issue best as she writes, "We (the church) have been an unintentional accomplice to the millions of lives lost and to the multiplied millions of lives devastated by abortion. We didn't want them to abort. We didn't mean for them to abort. But, because of our lack of knowledge, because of our fear, we have continued to stand by and do nothing."
"We, God's hands and feet in this dark and hurting world, have been unintentional, unknowledgeable accomplice, but an accomplice nonetheless."
May today mark the beginning of change within the church, as God's people, in unity, seek His forgiveness.
—————————————————– PRAYER —————————————————–
Heavenly Father, we have turned our backs on you and your principles in your Word. We have allowed man to usurp Your role as God over life and the number of our days. But we come to you in brokenness and repentance over our sin.
We cry out for Your mercy and ask you to remove the scourge of abortion from our land.
Use us as your vessels, Lord, to bring the light of Your Truth to our nation once again. Because of Christ we pray, Amen.

What’s to say about me? Well, I’m 75 years old, semi-retired with my wife Marianne, and living in a condo in Central Florida. I was born in Manhattan (New York Hospital) but lived my childhood in Astoria, Queens. My wife lived one block away but we never met until I was about 21 years old. I enlisted in the US Navy in 1954 and served aboard 2 Aircraft Carriers, the Bennington and the Leyte. After 3 and a half years I was discharged and I worked in many different jobs. My favorite job was as a motorcycle courier for the local TV News Stations and U.P.I. I got paid to do something I loved, riding a Harley!
I met my wife through her cousin and we married and had 6 children; 2 are in heaven. We now have 8 grandchildren! Most of them are living in New York and Pennsylvania, so we don’t see them too much.
In 1987, on April 25th, I was ordained a deacon for the Diocese of Brooklyn and served in four parishes until 2002, when we relocated to Florida. Mainly because we couldn’t afford to live in NYC and for my wife’s health, she needed a home of her own. She has ‘end stage kidney failure’ and is expected to go on dialysis soon. Our daughter helped us buy the condo and answered my prayers that we could have our own home. Blessed be God forever!
I work a part-time job to help pay for the medications and doctor visits, but it’s really tough making ends meet.
I miss New York with all the excitement and places to go. And the beautiful churches! I also love the Old Latin Mass but can’t get to one here. As a matter of fact we don’t even have a parish in our town of Tavares, so we travel to Eustis or Mt. Dora for Mass. Our life is a struggle and I hope to post some of these trials here for the glory of God!
We're on the move again! We just left Florida and moved to be near our grandchildren. Marianne had congested heart failure in March and spent 9 days in the hospital. I must say that Florida Waterman hospital saved her life and gave her great care. She is in our new residence and recuperating. God bless us all
I'm Deacon John, age 75, ordained 4/25/87 as a Permanent Deacon for the Diocese of Brooklyn; now semi-retired in Central Florida with Wife Marianne.
Please Donate for my wife’s Kidney failure Medical bills. She had a congested heart attack on 3/13/2012, was in ICU for 9 days. She will continue with Procrit shots . You will always be in my daily prayers. God Bless+

Did You Know? The first meeting of the Bilderberg Group occurred on May 29, 1954, at the Hotel de Bilderberg in the Netherlands–an event that both gave the movement its name and led to years of conspiracy speculation. LEARN MORE.
According to the older, traditional Roman calendar, today is Tuesday in the Octave of Pentecost. The octave of Pentecost was lamentably killed off by the cutters and snippers of the Consilium in the post-Conciliar reform of the Roman liturgy. Here is an oldie PODCAzT I made for this day in 2008:
